My OMG stat of the day... (2 Viewers)

He's on pace to throw more TD's this season than he has since 2006.

Damn I'm tired of hearing people say that he's on pace to throw for 96, even know they are joking.

In 3 years Brees has thrown for over half as many yards as Kurt Warner has in his 12 year career and Tom Brady in his 10 year career.

Does that include Week 1 against the Lions?

Marino threw for 13,967 Yards and 122 TD between 1984 and 1986.

QBs are judged by SB victories, and we are close. We have the core group to do it this year, we should be in the running for the next 3-5 years w/ this group we have assembled now.

wow. thats crazy... i wonder what that puts him... 1st?

Yes he's probably far and away 1st (in that span).

To me... Drew seems like Steve Young... and I keep seeing that NFL Films replay of the '94 (or whatever) Super Bowl when he's on the sideline and tells his teammates "somebody pull that monkey off my back".

Peyton Manning went thru that for a while until he won the Super Bowl in '06, and I think folks know that Drew is a great QB, but he's not mentioned in the same breath as Manning and Brady because he doesn't have that ring.

Yeah people are taking notice, but Drew will get his respect once the Saints win the big one... which is veeeeeery close to happening.

Guy's a stud - no doubt about it...

As a fan of another team I am interested in getting your opinion about Brees. If I may, a couple of questions...

1) Do you think Brees legitimately belongs in the conversation of playing the best at QB right now?

2) Do you see his numbers as "fairy-tale"? That is there are too good to be true?

3) If #2 is yes, do you think that is why it seems as if "experts" seem to continue to doubt him.

4) Outside of a SB ring, what else does Brees have to do to become an unquestionable elite QB?

He's already getting his respect...he's already mentioned with those guys...as he should be.

People know he's not the reason your team hasn't accomplished more...the smart people do anyway...

1) Yes

2) Not a fairy tale - he's a very smart QB and a great leader. His numbers are not too good to be true - they are real. They are documented. It's not like me calling you and saying if you send me $5 I'll give you $100....

3) I don't hear many experts doubt him - the ones that do I wouldn't consider 'experts'

4) I don't even think he needs that. Marino didn't

Yeah it took a 6-TD game to open eyes...

Only 1 person in the history of the NFL has passed for 4,400 yards and 26+ TD in 3 consecutive seasons.

DREW BREES!
