I think the common opinion is that this game will be a tough matchup for Reggie. However, I'm going to be starting him this week(my league awards points per reception). Reggie will be going against a team that finished 3rd in total defense last year and only gave up 169 yards and 1 TD in week one, making them the number 1 defense after one week.
This is not a good-looking matchup on paper. With that said, I did a little research on Reggie Bush in games against teams who finished in the top 5 in either Yds/gm or Points/gm allowed in the year that each game took place.

Here is what I found( PPR scoring)

2006-
WK 8 vs Baltimore(#1 yds/gm allowed;#1 pts/gm allowed)
6.1 Fantasy Points(Fpts)
WK 20(NFC Championship) @ CHI(#5 yds/gm;#3 pts/gm)
28.1 Fpts
2007-
WK 1 @ Indy(#3 yds/gm;#1 pts/gm)
8.5 Fpts
WK 2 @ Tampa Bay(#2 yds/gm;#3 pts/gm)
13.0 Fpts
WK 3 vs Tennessee(#5 yds/gm)
23.5 Fpts
WK 13 vs Tampa Bay
8.7 Fpts
2008-
WK 2 @ Washington(#3 yds/gm)
22.1 Fpts

Reggie Bush averaged 15.7 Fpts/gm in 7 games against top 5 defenses.
He scored more than 10 Fpts in 4 out of 7 of those games and in 3 out of the 4 10+ Fpt games, he scored more than 20 Fpts.
Evidence like that would make it difficult to sit Reggie in a PPR league against what seems like even the worst matchups.

I predict 8 carries for 28 yards and 6 receptions for 54 yards and 1 touchdown.

I'd start him if I had him based on the fact that the LBs that he's likely to matchup with will make him a pretty attractive passing option for Brees. If you get returns too, then I definitely would start him.

here is a tough one, reggie bush or leon washington for my flex spot???

really reggie? even with the pats D being banged up, losing jerod mayo. i like reggie but last weeks game is scaring me off. i wouldn't be surprised if he did better this week but saints spread the ball around too much.

not comparing pure talent alone. this is about matchup. leon has a good matchup, reggie doesn't. that is where the dilemma comes in.

i am actually starting reggie and leon washington(thanks, pierre). i think washington could have the type of game that fred jackson had last week. leon had one less carry than thomas jones did until about 10 minutes left in the 4th qtr last week, and that is when the jets started to salt away the game.

The only time you count the Pats D out is if Belichik is out for the season. I can see LW busting a long run after catching a pass in the flat. But it's all about opportunity here, not just match up. I'd predict LW gets 10-12 touches while Bush gets 17-20.
