and they want to short out your toaster.

Get ready for an invasion of crazy ants

HOUMA — They move in waves, are known to short out electrical appliances and can form what one expert calls a “superhighway” across your kitchen counter, irritating you in your own home.

And they’re coming to a town near you.

Rasberry crazy ants are lurking in Texas, just across the Louisiana border, and are poised to invade the state, LSU AgCenter entomologists say. Some may have already arrived.

First discovered in the U.S. in southeast Texas by a pest-management professional named Tom

Rasberry, after whom they’re

named, the ants form “super colonies” that have the potential to displace native ants, LSU’s Linda Hooper-Bùi said.

We need to prepare:

“Fire ants are easier to deal with and are less economically damaging,” Hooper-Bùi said. “People in Texas are saying they’d take the fire ants back rather than contend with crazy ants.”

:eek2:

Crazy aunts are from alabama
I have a couple of crazy aunts already and one screwed up uncle. I hope we don't get invaded by crazy uncles they are much worse.:hihi:

I would love if the new texas staduim was invaded by crazy ants.

It would be the end of that super sized TV. Crazy ants don't just short out appliances. They ruin computers, TVs, anything electronic. They run across the circuit boards and create a connection between electrical leads and POP your out a few thousand bucks.

Fortunately they haven't gotten up to North Texas yet. The experts aren't sure yet, but they think our colder winters will stop them from coming up here.

BRING IT, ANTS!
