N/S (sort of) Did anyone hear Mora rant about the FG kicker? (1 Viewer)

If you haven't heard Mora go off on his field goal kicker, you have to hear it. He said in plain English that the FG kicker cost them the game. No excuses, he sucked.

Which brings me to my question; when Hartley comes back, do we release Carney and let a team like Seattle pick him up? Roster spots are critical in this league and two kickers doesn't make much sense. But if you have him on your team, he can't be kicking for someone else.

What do the Saints do?

Not just two kickers but two kickers and three quarterbacks.

I don't know if I'd make a trade unless it was favorable. I'm also not so sure that Seattle would make a trade for a kicker either. They have other issues right now.

Well I'm not going to have any pitty for Olindo Mare, he lost us a few games as well! And no, I wouldn't bring hartley back, I never trusted him and with Moorstead handling Kickoff duty well we don't really need him (as long as we can count on Moorstead to kick a long FG if needed).

Personally I love the Morstead/Carney combo.

When we need to kick a 52 yarder to win the game I may feel differently, but in most situations our current kicker setup is ideal. Carney is golden inside 40 and he has his head on straight. Morstead is kicking most kickoffs into the endzone. There isn't much more could you ask for.

I say we keep Carney, I don't think we should have ever let him go actually. Now that we have Moorestead to handle kickoffs we only need Carney for the field goals and we don't kick a lot of those anyhow. Hartley miss some easy ones in Preseason didn't he?

I did not even realize O. Mare was the kicker for Seattle. Now it all makes sense.
