I really hope that we can continue this physical style of play that we showed today on that field for the remainder of the season....

It just seems like guys are hitting other players in the mouth more than
in the past, its a swagger that has really been missing before even on special teams you see hits like the one Hamilton laid today

Vilma and co being aggressive, especially with that lick he delivered
on the screen. You see Jabari and Tracy coming of the edge getting nice hits on the quarterback you see certain WR's hesitant to go over the middle knowing big bad Sharper is sittting back licking his chops

and then finally with the run game its nice to see us just line up and run
straight at an opponent, to see us wear down their front 7 with Thomas
Bush, and Hamilton for 3 quarters until the defense just finally gives.

As most of you know we have seen the exact scenario's that I named above go against us in years past so here's to keeping this swagger intact
and playing smash mouth hit you in the face until you have no face football!!

Geaux Saints!!!!!

In a post game interview in the locker room, Vilma was asked about the hit he laid on Fred Jackson. His response was awesome. He said that Gregg Williams had told the defense on that drive to make a statement by hitting them in the mouth on that drive so that's what he did. He said there were no dirty hits just clean hard hits to let them know the Saints defense was there to play and it's be a long game.

WOW!!! I love it. :9:

The biggest knock on past SP teams was that they were considered "soft". IMO, Greg Williams aggressive, physical style on D has translated over to the O. The entire team now plays with more of a chip on their shoulders.

Luv It!!!

yeah i saw that interview as well,, but thats exactly what I'm talking about our defense wanting to come out and make a statement instead
of just trying not to mess things up, or just try to get that one stop at the end of the game, how about getting stops throughout the game and keeping your opponent out of the end zone now thats MORE LIKE IT

I'm telling you guys there is alot MORE to come from this 2009 defensive unit!!!
