2 man keeper league.

I have Breesus and DeAngelo.

The dude with Peterson wants me to trade him Breesus and DeAngelo for Peterson and either Eli or Flacco.

What do you guys think?

I am thinking no, although i would love to get Peterson in a keeper league, I feel like i am giving up too much.

So you know, my other backs are Pierre, McGahee, Lynch, and Beanie Wells. Can only start 2 backs along with a flex spot.

It's a close call, but I think the average value over Flacco, or any other QB, for Brees, especially keeper, is higher than Peterson over a top 12 or so back. I tend to lean on QB & WR more than RB myself, and have had reasonable success over the years with that (used to do Farve/Young, later Manning, now Brees in 1st or 2nd and try to grab top receiver). I can see where it'd be appealing, but I'd pass. If you're in a 4pt for passing touchdown league it's more tempting, but I'm assuming a 6pt passing TD league.

It is a 6 pt TD league. Brees will be the top produced when it is all said and done, however, the next 5 or 6 fantasy leaders will be Qbs as well. If i had a magic ball and knew that what i would be getting in return would be in the next 5 or 6, i think i would consider it more.

Let me ask you this, would do this trade for Brees and someone else? Lets say i can get him to take Brees and McGahee, would you do it then?

The tandem of Peterson, DeAngelo, Pierre, and Calvin Johnson starting in the Playoffs seems pretty tempting.

Although, with the above statement, Breesus plays Dallas and Tampa in fantasy playoffs and at home.

uhhh with Lynch coming back.... stay put....dont trade

I think the Brees Peterson trade is about as intriguing as it gets. I don't think you'd be an idiot for another trade w/improvement at another position too, I'd just be unlikely to give up either of those two in a keeper league. You're also tossing in a pretty decent DeAngelo Williams in the deal. He may not be a keeper, but you know either QB you're getting isn't either. I'd be more tempted by getting a great WR like Andre Johnson or something like that and fending for myself at QB. Simply put though, when you have a top 5 player in a keeper league it's always hard to justify trading him even for another top 5 player. The guy you're trading with obviously thinks he's getting the better end of the deal, right?

He thinks he is, but he also just loves Brees...who wouldnt?

Just so you know, i am not a RB guy. I almost never take RBs early, it is just weird in a 2 man keeper league because your options are so limited at draft time. All the elite RBs are gone. I would love to keep WR/WR, but i cant seem to nail the right ones at the right time.

Maybe i can try to work something with my other players to get Andre. Heck with Pierre finally coming around and the emergence of McGahee, i have options.
