...against Shockey for tripping? It was a really bad call as we all could see. I know that report cards come out every week on the officiating. Does anyone know if Sean Payton got any apologies from the league office yet? BTW: those two calls for roughing the passer were bogus too.

I don't know but i have watched the head of officiating on NFL network every week defending bad calls. If he can't even admit to mistakes then how can his crew? I have never heard the guy say" yeah that was a bad call and we will work on that". He just makes excuses for these refs who seem to pay more attention to protecting the qb's then anything else. I saw the line judge on a replay staring down Edwards and not even scanning the line for holds. I guess since it is a such an easy call that's what they look for. I really think this season the refs are going to tick off everyone so bad that petitions start going around.

i hate to whine about penalties but that shockey call was pure BS.

the roughing penalties are nothing compared to some calls they use to make on us when we used to play michael vick.

Tripping is punished not only by a penalty, but also a fine. I have watched the play over and over and it was not Shockey's intent to trip the opposing player. If the league really believed he had done it on purpose, he would've been fined like Flozell Adams and Felix Jones were this week.

I'm not so sure he purposely stuck it out. It didn't look like he even saw the guy. He tripped him for sure, but it looked purely incidental.

the worst call was the no call on the guy who threw will smith to the ground by his head after then interception. i don't understand that with all those personal foul penalties called that game that one goes unnoticed.

Anyone know how we can get a look at the grades of the officials on a weekly basis? That would be great to see during the week, especially during a bye week.

Edwards was scrambling and went into one of our players head first trying to get a yard or two. Hargrove gang tackled him and clearly hit Edwards before he was on the ground. That was by far the worst call I saw all day

I stopped watching that clown after about the second week they had him on way back when. He can keep his wack *** excuses when we all know he's full of ****.

i think thats a call that wouldnt have been made a few years ago. if the qb slides then thats one thing but if you go head first all bets are off.

that's what I thought too. I was shocked when they made it. At least they hit the Bills with a stupid tripping call too.

The Bills tripping call was much more flagrant. But I think both were good calls.

By the way, I do agree that this was a terrible call, and there were several others that were not only terrible, but could have been game changers. From what I've seen though, it's been a league wide problem. I could be wrong, but I've seen equally terrible calls in most of the other games I've watched.
