Some thought we might be lucky to win just 3-4 games this season, some thought having an 8 win season would earn Gene Chizik SEC COTY honors. Well after tonight, we proved at least the first prediction was totally off the mark. It's still a long season, but we've played inspiring football when the odds were in the extreme against us and seen as a mere afterthought.

We didn't win with a dominating roar but we did what we're supposed to do and because of that, it was more then enough to pull out the win.

I salute Tennessee for a hard-fought contest and playing above your team's strength. I have a lot of respect for Tennessee and their long held commitment to winning. Their a highly respectable program that has always found ways to win while building up good foundations along the way. Like Auburn, they have time honored traditions and guidelines that I personally respect even as a die-hard fan of another SEC team.

Besides that, War Damn Eagle. We've played well so far this season and I like our chances against most of our remaining schedule. Be proud to wear Auburn so that all can see.

and LSU, we'll see you 3 weeks from now. I know the time AND the place, but the Tiger War is coming down to Baton Rouge and be like rabid dogs on steroids.

They've looked decent. I really like what their offense is doing. Defensively they looked great also last night, but Tenn's offense and QB are horrible.

Tubbie was a great coach and he just had one decision go horribly wrong last year by selecting his OC. I am not completely surprised by this run of theirs, but I thought getting a new coach, especially this coach, would handicap ya'll a bit too.

Enjoy this while you can, eventually the mark Tubbie has left on this program will disappear and Saban will own you in recruiting and on the field. He's already started this process, so it won't be long...

Awbarn, can you say MSU? Ya'll might want to get your cowbells now...

Should have kept Tubs... (And I HATE that guy, so thank you. :))

You don't keep up with recruiting much do you? We are doing so much better this year than in the past 2-4 years.

Seven SEC teams headline the top 15, Awbarn is #12 which is 6th best in the SEC. Out of 12 teams, that's not so hot? And Alabama is currently third in the SEC and ranked #4 overall in the nation. Combine that with their nationally top ranked recruiting classes the last two years and that spells the beginning of the end for awbarn. Who knows, maybe you'll make up a lot of ground by signing period this year? But as of right now, it's not looking good for you guys.

You currently have 5 players with a ranking of 4 stars. 9 three star players and 2 that are lower than three stars for a total of 16 commits.

No way Chizik is a better gameday coach than Saban as Saban is a defensive genius and he's outrecruiting you (even this year.) I'm sorry, but the future does not look good for Awbarn for the next 5 to 10 years. Obviously anything can happen and it's still early in the recruiting process. But as of right now, these are the facts.

So how about I ask you the same thing, you don't follow recruiting much, do you?

Auburn may be ranked 6th but that doesn;t necessarily mean they have the 6th best talent in their class. I mean recruiting rankings are not some sort of objective system, and it certainly isn't scientific enough to guarantee a #12 has less talent than a #8 or even higher. I take Auburn's recruiting ranking as evidence they are doing fine in that area.

I don;t think Auburn is at the level to compete for a championship, but you have to be happy if you are a Tiger fan. The only thing I would be worried is Malzahn leaving.

If we were talking about just one recruiting class, I would agree with you. And if we were talking about any other conference, this would be an amazing class. I mean this is still the SEC and even Vandie and MSU will pull in some talent. But we have to put things into perspective here. Even as an LSU fan, I know that college football for them resolves around beating Alabama. Although one recruiting class might be subjective... Saban has been there long enough to whip their tail in recruiting the last few years and thus setting a trend. It has also been statistically proven that the best teams in the SEC generally have the top ranked classes over time. There is a correlation there. And with Alabama starting to cherry pick the talent they want in that state, it's going to leave awbarn with the leftovers.

Trust me, as an LSU fan, I want nothing more than Awbarn and Alabama to neutralize each other and end up with average recruiting classes. But Awbarn is not slowing Alabama down and they are quickly falling behind Alabama. Seeing as they fight for many of the same recruits, are division rivals and more importantly to them are in-state rivals that hate each other... the road to success for Awbarn goes through Alabama. They must reverse the recruiting beatdowns they are receiving from Alabama to have any chance. Even this year, Alabama is in the top 5 recruiting classes and Awbarn is in the top 15. There's a noticeable, but if only slight, difference in those classes as opposed to comparing a 4th and 5th ranked class. Combine a slightly less talented team with less talented coaching... hm... Not good.

Oh and Alabama also has the historical tradition and resume factor tilting massively in their favors too.

All SEC west teams need to find a way to stop Alabama from becoming a dominating power they quickly are becoming. I believe that most important step to neutralizing Alabama is through Awbarn. Step it up guys! Geez.

I'm sorry, is signing day tomorrow, or February?

Hey, you're the one who brought up this years recruiting class as if it made a difference... I was just pointing out that you are wrong based on your existing signing class up-to-date. Currently your class this year is ranked 6th in the SEC, completely middle of the pack. Sorry dude. Nice try.

But hey, I sincerely hope you go on a hot streak and start stealing away some of Alabama's critical players. I really hope you do.

This year we are also stealing players that would have headed to red stick. Say good-bye to Reed & Seastrunk.

After signing day look up the rankings, the stars, and all the other bs and get back to me. We will see who has been outrecruited

the fact that you go out of your way to spell it "awbarn" shows how pathetic you really are :)
