What will it take to make people believe? we have beaten 2 undefeated teams. we have beaten team in ways they said we had to win in order to be considered a contender(running game and defense). The said we played nobody. Then we embarrass the G-Men in the Dome whom the media and most fans alike said would be the measuring stick as they were the "best" in the nfc with a 2nd ranked offense and 1st ranked defense. Now that we haven't embarrassed those that they said we'd lose to they try to say that maybe the giants just weren't that good or if they had this player healthy or that player healthy things would be different that we can not possible be this good.

or will the talk then be maybe the competition in the nfl was at an all time low and we got to play too many people with too many injuries and we got too many breaks

Most everyone I've seen has been very complimentary of the Saints as of today. Most tout us as Super Bowl favorites right now. I don't know what made you write this.

As a fan base we really need to get over this inferiority complex. If you're going to ignore all of the praise that we're getting and only listen to the couple of people left that are trying to find something to criticize us with, then you're going to miss the parade. There's something really special going on with this team right now, and you're missing it because you're seeking universal validity, which is unattainable.

On a serious note, the Saibts have been getting a lot of Respect from Football fans across the country. ESPN has had several polls that have showed this. The media continues to find excuses to not show us respect, but I couldn't care less!

When you win two Superbowls in 5 years people believe for a decade. The 85 Bears got a year or two and got past respect, but by 1990, the Bears were just another playoff team to most non-Chicago fans. Winning 1 gets you all time memory, heck being in one gets you that, but it really takes two for any lasting recognition and 3 or more in a decade to get the old Niners/Cowboys/Patriots enduring love. Look at the Raiders: they've been to several spread out, even one this decade. You think Tampa gets long term respect? But as much as they struggle folks will still spin near .500 for the Cowboys and Niners as hard times etc. So, let's start with this year and two more before Drew retires and we're in for a few decades.
