I know, I know, to early for things like this, however, just watched the talking heads do it so I thought I would ask.

On a side note, I agree, Saints, only because of the flaws I see in our D. Who else would love to see what Gregg Williams would do with this defense.

I mean really, on paper who looks better, our base 4-3 or this group..... Talk about getting the most out of your talent.

My friend is a diehard Vikings friend. She and I have been going back and forth about which team is better. Of course, there have already been several bets placed:

1. Saints reach the Super Bowl...she has to get us two tickets to the game. Vikings reach it and I have to buy the tickets

2. Saints go farther in the playoffs and she has to wear a Brees jersey for a week. Vikings win and I have to wear a Favre jersey for a week

3. Saints go undefeated longer than the Vikings....she has to pay for a weekend of golf. Vikings go longer and I have to pay for a weekend spa ordeal.

She keeps saying we haven't played anyone and our wins have come when our opposing team is down on its luck and that we have yet to win against a team at full strength.

I of course stated that the Vikings are playing great ball right now, with not one but TWO last second miracles to keep their undefeated record. AND...that they need all the wins they can get because Favre won't last the whole season and once he's gone...they are screwed at the QB position. The position needed to win playoff games and the big games.

So, I do think we as fans love our team winning, but when the facts are presented the Saints have BLOWN out their teams and are not needing the football Gods to appear in the last 30 seconds of games to help us come out with a win.

By God we better win, because I have NO desire to lose ANY of those bets. And if you're wondering, she is HOT and there will be pics when I win those bets :9:

I respect the Vikings. They are our rival within the NFC.

I would put the Falcons as the second biggest threat.

One of my buddies up here who is a lifelong vikings fan told me last night after watching the Saints on nfl replay that he thinks the Saints would beat the vikes by 17.

The Vikings with Favre remind me a lot of the Jets with Favre last year. They started off well and had some big games (handed the Titans their first defeat) but they stumbled at the end and didn't reach the playoffs. I'm not saying that the Vikings won't reach the playoffs but they will stumble and lose 4-5 games maybe. It will start next weekend against the Steelers.

I mostly agree, but Jets didn't have AP, Taylor, or Jared Allen. I think if Favre falls off there may be others to take up the slack. Winning against them would come down to one thing... can we protect Brees from Jared Allen.

Not so sure about that...Allen is great but our pass prtocetion scheme is rarelly messed up by just the DE. If we had to play them, the most important match up would be evans against Kevin williams. KW is still the best pass rushing DT in the game and he was the main reason our offense stuggled last year. Allen gets all the credit for the Vikings pass rush but Willimas is much more important....even more against us.

Overall, I think the two teams are pretty close talent wise but on the long term, I like the saints chance better. The vikings have overall average talent with the best collection of superstar in the league...the saints are the opposite, very few stars but very good overall talent. I think we're less suceptible to injuries.

DE's concern me alittle if only because it takes away from our pass receivers to keep one in for max protect. We handled Cole and Tuck/Umenyora, but Schobel (Bills) ate us up a little. DT's didn't worry me with our guard tandem and we've already faced the monster in Jenkins. I don't believe any inside pressure will ever be an issue this season at least concerning our passing game.
