Dateline - Child Predator Series (1 Viewer)

Too bad. Some of his prior convictions could have had fun with him.

And to think, he wasn't too far away from being a District Judge

I have mixed feelings when I watch these Dateline shows. On one hand, it's so entertaining to see someone try to lie and cover-up what they were trying to do. But on the other hand, it's sad to see somebody when they hit rock-bottom realizing their life is basically ruined (not that I don't despise what they were trying to do).

Yes, but think of all the money he saved the taxpayers by taking his own life. If only all of them would do this.

The moment they realize there gig is up and they're going to pay the piper...ahhhh...that's the part I enjoy watching the most. Sexual predators get no sympathy from me what-so-ever.

The begging, the promises that it'll never happen again...the tears.:smilielol:

Eh...they could have installed webcams and made money off the deal.

The Dateline Child Predator series is the best show out there- just great, great TV. You can't script that kind of drama, and it's hard to turn away from watching it......

Hey baby, do you want to cyber? The ex used to tell me she'd get that all the time in chat (had an alias that pointed to the fact she was a female). It sounds kind of cheezy to me, but I recently read some statistic (can't remember where) that stated that almost 40% of American males would rather not be involved in relationships and would, instead, prefer porno on the internet. Now I'm guilty of the latter, but I don't understand the lure of cyber-sex at all. As I used to mention about phones, "Oh baby, how does it feel." "Like a keyboard!" :hihi: As for the child-predator stings, I realize they're constitutional and they get dirtbags off the streets and in jail where they belong, but something just seems dirty about them too. Do any of the guys actually believe they're going to get with a 13 or 14 year old? I'm pretty far out the loop, but I remember back in the day when all guys were blonde haired, blue eyed, muscular and well endowed, and most chicks claimed something +/- 36x24x36 and scortching hot. Everyone lies on the internet. It reminds me of the postal inspector's entrapments they've been doing for a while. There was one guy in Nebraska whose case went to the supreme court where he lost. He got legit porno mags in the mail, and the postal inspectors office decided to start soliciting him for child porn subscriptions. Apparently many years went by and the guy never responded, but at some point (like 7 or 10 years or whatever), he finally did and got popped for that. I was pretty young when that story was going down, but it was almost like they created the market for this individual who had otherwise done nothing illegal until they baited him and preyed on him to the point he couldn't help himself.

Again, don't misread me. I think scumbags need to pay for what they do. But how much of this (if any?) is caused by the artificial market they create?

Over the weekend I was watching the show and it was focused on Harris County Georgia which is near Ft. Benning. Sure enough, there were some military folks caught in the sting including an Army National Guard officer. They all believed they were coming to meet a young girl 13-15 years old (depending on scenario). We're talking civilian charges coupled with military reprocussions. There's no way they're just playing around. They're predators willing to risk it all for their jollies with an underaged girl.

I saw the one before it, and then they mentioned the military catches was on next. My oldest said he'd already seen that one and he didn't want to watch it again (so we didn't). But how can people be so dumb/desperate? I just don't get it.

I've seen a few episodes of this, and mostly it's horrendous.

The problem I have is that on a couple of occasions, they've lured in guys that were 21, and that clearly seemed mentally young even for 21--like guys who'd never had a girlfriend, etc.

Not making excuses for them, but it somehow doesn't seem quite the same as when you drag in some 45 year old creep who has a pregnant wife at home, and shows up with whip cream and a blow torch.

I'm hesitant to refer to it as "luring" anyone. The predators are the ones who make the first proposition. Sure they're going to get a few that are borderline (such as your 21 year old example), but they're also nailing the 30+ year old creeps in very significant numbers....including the married with children, including doctors, including prosecutors, including those in the ministry in some capacity, etc., etc., etc.

I, for one, am glad they are shedding such a bright light on sexual predators and only wish they had the resources to do even more.

Piece of CRAP! Another politician, they are getting up there with the Catholic preists!
