Colston had concussion (2 Viewers)

Hmm, I wouldn't have thought that from watching it a few times. I would have thought it was a shoulder injury the way he came down of course I will rewatch it and see exactly how he fell. He finished out the game and he was okay on the sideline. I sure hope he is a go for the rest of the season.

he seemd fine after that to me....i have never had a concussion, but i guess it just depends on how bad it is.....i am sure no matter how slight it was, that dudes head was hurting the next day

I've had a few. If they're minor it's normally not an issue. No long-term or even really short-term effects. Just some spider-webs that go away with a good nights rest.

The problem is that even when you're feeling fine the concussion still hasn't nessecarily completely healed. It's the repeated concussions that get dangerous.

So if you get a second concussion on the heels of a first, or even just a little jarring to the head if you had a serious concussion recently, it can cause permenant damage.

The eventual result can be "punch drunk" syndrome, which is what boxers can get (and what is wrong with Ali) where the brain is all scared up and it impairs their thinking.

A number of players (usually QBs) have had their careers cut short because the concussions piled up to the point where going "punch drunk" was a real possibility.

That's why I think the NFL should be better about giving players more time off when they get concussions. Like Ben Roethlisberger playing as soon as he did was, frankly, in my mind, completely irresponsible. If he had taken another serious concussion, his career might be over. At the very least it would have ended his season.

I don't see how people can be so callous with the mental health of these players. I'd give my knees and my arms and heck, my eyes before i'd give up my mind.

He looked like a cooked noodle when walking off the field. I was impressed that he came back and continues to dominate!

Payton mentioned he had a concussion in his presser yesterday.

yea, payton said it was a very minor concussion in the press conference. He said that Craft had a worse one

That is NOT what is wrong with Ali. He suffers from Parkinson's disease.
