We were 5-0 (it was 1993) and Pittsburgh was 3-2. 37 - 14. In our defense, our QB was Wade Wilson, so I mean, come on.

ah ty for the memory flash back but thought that there was a sooner one during the haslett or ditka era where we got whipped up by 50+ points?

We never even remotely sniffed 6-1 or, heck, 3-1 underneath Ditka.

We were 6-1 once underneath Haslett, 2002, but we beat Pittsburgh that year, early in the season.

* edit * damn guess just getting old it was the '93 season lol!!

In 2002 the Saints were 3-1 (started the season 6-1/7-2) and beat the Steelers 32-29 (32-21 lead late). The Steelers started that season 1-2 going into that game (1-3 leaving), finished 10-5-1. They were 13-3 and in the AFC championship game the prior season.

That loss to Pittsburgh brings back a lot of bad memories. In my opinion that game was the beginning of the end of the Mora era. We were coming off 11-5 and 12-4 records in 91 and 92 and then we start out 5-0 in '93 and get crushed by the Steelers in the sixth game. It was all down hill from there. We never made the playoffs again untill 2000.

unfortunately, i remember that game all too well. Hopefully there will not be a repeat of that. And its not so much that loss, but what happened after, that i cant forget. The wheels came off and we were never the same.

But that was the OLD Saints.

I was at that game and it was doom right from the beginning. In the 4th quarter of the game, an old lady, about 75-80 years old, who was seated 2 rows ahead of me, turned around to face me and hands me a brown paper bag and says, "here, I think that you will be needing this again". It seemed like every Steeler fan in the joint heard her and was laughing at me. I wanted to cry.

that game was my first true saints memory. I remember watching the game with my dad. All I remember is Barry Foster, and the score being so bad that they switched the televised game to a different one.

Anyone have Fosters rushing stats from that game?
