-- Rams Run Defense Failing --
Wed Nov 8, 2006 --from FFMastermind.com

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the most disappointing aspect of the 2006 Rams has been run defense. Despite all the time and money spent rebuilding the defense, the Rams actually are worse against the run this season than they were midway through 2005. The Rams are yielding 5.0 yards per carry and allowing 141.3 yards per game. If those numbers don't improve markedly, it will be a long November and December.

Haslett and Venturi always have a heckuva good defense.

When you instruct the linebackers to stay in position and not move until the running back comes running up directly in front of them, this is likely to keep happening.

But at least you didn't overcommit.

Bet Will Witherspoon is rethinking not even talking to us in the offseason.

Do you guys remember after the first Rams game where their Defense did pretty good people were saying Haslett was amazing and deserves a HC job?? i saw this coming a mile away.

It's almost like those guys don't know what they're talking about..

I thought the same thing and laughed when I heard them hopping on the bandwagon.

You know they were like "please oh please oh please finally prove us right about Haslett and Venturi being great defensive minds."

well in hasletts defense, if one of your linebackes loses $500 in an onfield poker game during the practice on friday, he might be a little depressed come sunday.....:D

They should force a safety to gain 35lbs and move him to middle linebacker. Maybe Tebucky Jones? He has a heckuva 40 time.

Hey, if you take away all the long runs Larry Johnson had on Sunday against the Rams, they would be BETTER than last year...

Haslett+Venturi=Yards and Yards and Yards and Yards

Sorry but that seems like a post from a Falcons board...... if we take away all the touchdowns we've given up we'd be leading the league in scoring D.

I guess I shouldve included a sarcasm meter on my post...that was a play on what Haslett or Venturi would tell the media on a weekly basis after the run defense got torched..."Hey, if you take away the 56 and 43 yard runs, they wouldve only had 50 yds rushing..."

You wouldnt believe how many times we heard that garbage...sad thing is, they actually believed it.

yeah, if you take away the 52 yarder and the 48 yarder from Henderson, he would have had one catch for 8 yards!
