Bar work in NOLA ? (1 Viewer)

it is the downside. if hes looking to work a bar in the quarter or anywhere in the city really. who wants to take a cab from chalmette to downtown every day?

I assume there aint any public transport then ?

get lucky and catch a random bus in St. Bernard Parish all the way to the 9th Ward at Jackson Barracks. then catch an RTA bus to the Quarter. its annoying.

what is it like 6 - 7 mile ? I'd buy a bike i guess

This really is such an excellent option for me , If only there was a way i could manage to find work before i come over

i'm pretty sure RTA busses run all the way to St. Bernard Highway & Mehle.

ETA: Google Maps says St. Bernard Highway is still St. Claude Ave. at that point but that i think that's false.

you are correct. they turn around at the first stoplight in St. Bernard Parish. and its still St. Claude Ave. until you hit the arabi train tracks, then it changes to St. Bernard Hwy

I'll need to do something or I'll be eating out of bins :smilielol:

Pretty much made my decision over the last week that im not leaving The U.S on my return flight on September 21st

I'll make it work one way or another

Just a word of warning here
I'd be very careful about working here without a work permit if i were you.....If you get caught, apart from deportation, it's an automatic minimum 10 year ban from re entering the Country and it's not like you can easily walk back over the border again from Mexico.
It will also permanently disqualify you from Citizenship and almost certainly bar you from ever obtaining a Green Card.

Although the chances of getting caught are minimal, the stakes are high if you ever want to settle here on a permanent basis....Especially for a bar job for a couple of months.

I'll have a 6 month holiday visa , and i can apply for a working holiday visa if i can find a job , if not i guess i go home
