Will Smith Arrested{MERGED} (1 Viewer)

Saints RE Will Smith was arrested early Saturday morning and booked on charges of simple battery and domestic abuse.
Smith and his wife reportedly got in an altercation after leaving a nightclub. Released on $1,000 bail, Smith will appear in court on Monday. He's not in danger of a last minute scratch, as the Saints played on Thursday. Smith is a first-time offender of the Personal Conduct Policy, separate from his previous involvement in the StarCaps incident. We expect the team will likely take the "we'll let the legal system run its course" approach before deciding any sort of punishment.

Even though some details are coming out, we still know little of what happened. Did the officers see them arguing and then see a large man accidently grab her hair, grab her neck, was it a violent tug, or somewhat gentle?

Mardi Gras should teach everyone one thing, cops can arrest you for anything. He has a court hearing on Monday, we don't eve know if they'll press charges or how substantial the charges are. The Minor injuries part is also very vague.

At least we know this, he didn't choke her, punch her, slap her, drag her, etc. It's not like the Sapp case, and he pretty much got off that.

I'm not advocating Will get's off, just saying we really know little of the incident, so stop getting on your high horse and saying he should be in jail or it's inexcusable. We know almost nothing of substance about this incident.

I tug on my gf's hair all the time, but she likes it. ;)

Leave it to Fox to put a nice little spin on things. Like for example mentioning the "StartCaps incident" in the article being SEPARATE from this particular case. Well if it is SEPARATE then why even bring it up in THIS article?

* Classic Fox Network shenanigans.

Watch the charges get dropped next week; the wifey knows where the bread is buttered.
Ummmm... Fox 8 is owned by Tom Benson. I'm not saying... I'm just saying

I'm a wife and while my husband has never pulled my hair either in public or private, this is not, IMO, domestic abuse. I'm pretty sure the only way this goes any further is if she presses charges. If it were me, I wouldn't. Sounds like much ado about nothing that unfortunately happened in public.

That was from Rotoworld.

Come on people, pulling someone's hair is assault and it is NOT something most people would like. Stop making excuses. They were having an argument and he made it physical. WRONG. I don't care who he is or what she said. You don't do that. The fact that he did it in public only makes is worse. He can't deny it.

How do we know he beat his wife? Maybe he got in fight with his brother-in-law over a Turkey leg.

I was thinking the same thing, alot of weird dynamics can happen during the holidays when you have family in town that you don't see often, we'll see.

Not the kind of headline you want to make, though...

How do you know he was the one that made it physical? And pulling her hair? When dudes are the ones that make things physical, pulling hair is not typically the first thing they do. Unless the pulled hair is quickly followed by a punch/slap combination. Maybe they were fighting over who was going to drive and as she started to squeeze her way into the driver side door he played a little dirty and pulled her out by her hair! :)

I saw a guy get arrested after his wife smacked him in the head with a glass bottle then rake his face with her fingernails. He pushed her and she fell down. The cops asked me what happened, I told them and they arrested him even though he had blood all over his head and face and she had no injuries.

We don't know what happened and so have no basis to form an opinion.

It's a wee bit much to call it assault unless the dude was trying to rip her hair out. For Christ sake, kindergartners pull hair all the time, should we start throwing them in juvie? Equating hair pulling, unless it's some serious stuff, to things like actually beating your wife cheapens the entire the charge of assault.

What's next? Guys getting arrested for looking at a woman for more than 5 seconds on sexual assault charges?

Hopefully, Will's lawyers can keep this situation on the back burners until after the season is over.

Wonder how this thread would look if it were John Abraham instead of Will Smith in the subject line?
