OK Homers - How Good Are the Falcons? - Fess Up (2 Viewers)

Honestly, they are good - very good.... But in the long run and under play-off pressure we hold the upperhand thru our experience. Ryan just may not be able to handle it and fold (i.g. Romo).

This is what I'm thinking - or hoping. The Saints are clutch and know it. They know they know how to win big games. It will be interesting to see if Atlanta chokes coming down the stretch. Remember our loss to TB last year. We still got HFA cause the Vikes choked more.

I hate Atlanta just as much as any of you but if youre thinking realistically, then you KNOW the Falclowns will win the division without a doubt. I hope we beat them in Georgia but highly unlikely. I say we'll finish the season 11-5.No way we win out 5 games. Thats wishful thinking. Our best hope is to play them in the playoffs and beat their feathers there.

They have also been healthy. Picture them minus Turner to keep the eight guy up???? Let white get a broken wrist from pushing off and see what happens. He doesn't deserve caps on name. they have had the same line all season.
They are good, they are lucky, and they are relatively healthy so far. It can last!!! That is the horror of it.
Go Bucs!!!! ............... This week.

I was checking these stats out when I saw this thread so I figured I would post them because it shows you that Atlanta may be 9-2, but they are not really a complete team.

These are NFL.com's Offensive and Defensive Rankings based on Points, Yards, Passing Yards, and Rushing Yards. I combined Offensive and Defensive Rankings and divided by 8 to get the average Ranking for each team. I included the teams with the best records, a few 5-6 teams, and San Diego.

Worth noting is that the Saints, Chargers, and Giants are the only 3 teams with single digit rankings in 6 of these 8 categories.

Ranked from Highest to Lowest based on average of eight total offensive and defensive categories:

1. San Diego Chargers (AFC) 6-5

3 1 2 15
12 1 2 3

So, the Saints did not "deserve" to have that shot in OT. In your opinion, which games have the Falcons won that they did not "deserve" to win?
Just my opinion but we did get outplayed by Atlanta most of the games and if it wasn't for a flucky/lucky bounce on the recovered punt we wouldn't have went to OT.

And yes the Falcons won a couple of games they should have lost like the 49ers game.....

9-2 is good. It doesn't matter how you win the game as long as you win. Last year we had a few games where our preparation met opportunity and it helped us. They are getting a little bit of that this year. Someone said it earlier they have a great tight end you can't leave in single coverage. Roddy White is playing great football, Turner pounds the ball for them. They are averaging 11 fewer plays on defense per game then any other team, that is because they run the ball very well. The Defense is solid and is playing pretty fricken good. They just held the packers to 17 points. They know how to win the close ball games, pretty much the same way we have won close ball games all season.

I still hate them and always want them to lose. Honestly, I think i would rather give my dog to Micheal Vick then see the Falcons win a Superbowl.

With all that I think they lose a game to either Tampa or Seattle on the road. Then it is just up to us to beat them in their house. Then I will get on here and say how much the Falcons suck.

I wouldnt be surprised if the Bucs pull this one off. Falclowns are favored by 3pts over Bucs. Of course this could change by the end of the week, but I dont see it changing very much. I think Tampa will take em this week to put us a half a game behind. Atlantas schedule looks as though they could win all 5, but they wont, theyll lost 2 of them. which 2 is anyones guess but ideally Bucs would be a favorable one.:mwink:

I have no problem admitting that the Falcons are a solid team, better than they were last season. But, you can't deny that EVERYTHING is going their way this year. We got calls and things like that, but nothing like the Falcons are getting. They are getting a game changing call or break nearly every week.

I think you guys only look at a few plays and overlook how their games went.
If you take their 4 "lucky" games, it's not like theydid nothing in these games. Against us, it went to overtime but we also had the lucky punt recovery. Against the 49ers (which people often refer to as the luckiest win), SF did NOTHING after the 1st quarter and got half of their point on a blocked punt. if SF win that game it would have been a huge upset IMO. Against Baltimore, they dominated the TOP the entire game and the score was close thanks to a late surge by the Ravens but you're biased if you think that game was close...the score board doens't tell the whole story. Finally, against the Packers, people point to a couple of mistakes GB did on the first half but they were still in it until the end and Atlanta managed to score when they had to in the money time.
Their win are not as lucky as it seems IMO

I feel like the falcons have played to their maximum potential, and have gotten every break. They barely beat Baltimore and green bay on good kick off returns/penalties in the last minute of the game, and we all know how they beat us. I just feel like its going to come down to our game against them, and we have to hope they stumble and lose a game. I am not afraid of the Georgia Dome in the playoffs even if we dont win the division, thats the quietest stadium I have ever been in, in my life.

I'm sorry, but I'm sick of this "outplayed" argument. All that matters is what the final score reads. We were "outplayed" by Minnesota last year, I didn't see them in the Super Bowl. If we were outplayed by Atlanta, but were still a chip shot away from victory, what does that say about Atlanta?

They are very good at home. One encouraging thing about their remaining schedule is that 3 of their last 5 are on the road. Of course, their competition isnt that great, TB, Seattle, and Carolina. I could still see them losing 1 or 2 of those games though, maybe they'll lose all 3 and make me happy. Nothing makes me happier (excluding a Saints win)than a Falcons loss.
