Aliens?? [NASA Discovery Announcement] (1 Viewer)

I wouldn't get my hopes too high. It might be a simple spore or bacteria, if that. It will be interesting to find out though, and where it resides. Thanks for the heads up.

They mostly come at night. Mostly.

$10 says they get sidetracked talking about Drew Brees being named Sportsman of the Year and never get around to the freaking aliens. Those public access channels only give you so much time.

I hope it's not like contact where the aliens are just jodi fosters dad

Seriously? If it was so much as an extraterrestrial bacterium, it would be earth-shattering. Discovery of any kind of life on another planet would be absolutely amazing.

But it's most likely something chemical or atmospheric somewhere else. Something like "we've found a planet/moon/large asteroid where ____ exists, which means it could support life."

If it was truly life, I think it'd be more tightly-wrapped. "A press conference on Wednesday" is a little anti-climactic for that kind of discovery. IMO.

If you go the the nearest Home Depot, you can pick a few up and they will work an entire day for about $30, undercutting regular hard working American laborers.

They took our jobs.

Oh gotcha...I thought you were stating fact, not making a prediction.

If they do, though, the kids have to learn something on the order of 15-20 planets instead of 8. There's even one in the asteroid belt that would have to be a planet. But, maybe they found life on one of them. I say if something lives there, it should get automatic planethood. :D

Perhaps one of the Mars rovers hit bacteria near the frozen polar cap? That would be an explosion in the scientific community and certainly worth keeping a lid on until the scheduled announcement.

It probably will end up being nothing of great consequence, but they've piqued my curiosity!
