Sharper is going to be back this week against Cincy, making Jenkins a back up or situation guy coming off the bench. Is he big enough to play a kinda blitzing LB / slot CB position?

P. S.- This is just a question I am not saying they should replace any LB starters.

Its kinda sad that I have to put that in the post, but there are a lot of poeple on this board who comment negatively just to do it I think.

My two cents is this: According to Troy Aikman, Gregg Williams told him that Jenkins is the team's best player on defense. If that's true, I just can't see him in the role of backup guy.

Sharper is a smart, veteran leader for this secondary, so you need him out there. However Jenkins is way too good to keep on the bench, trust me, Williams will find a way to get both involved.

I don't see how anyone can assume at this point that Sharper will be starting.

Edit: Or let me say it this way....I don't see how anyone can assume at this point that Sharper will be starting over Jenkins. If GW has some formation that keeps both of them on the field at the same time, I can see that.

You guys do realize that sharper has played games this year right. Neither of you 2 best defensive players will be getting much time on the bench. Sharp might start at FS like he did in the Carolina game, Jenkins is versatile enough to do all sorts of things with similar to a Charles Woodson.

I don't see GW taking Jenkins off the field in lieu of Sharper. While Sharper brings a load of experience and know-how to the position, Jenkins is the future.

Both Jenkins (6' 205) and Sharper (6'2" 210) have pretty good size but not LB size. It will be interesting to see how they are used in tandem.

Again, all you have to is go back and look at the Carolina game. Remember, the game we won 34-3

The main thing is that when all are healthy, we are a better team, and GW can put all kinds of combinations of players on the field. I could easily see him havin Harp at LB, MJ at SS, Sharp playing FS, and PR playing nickel in third and long siuations, with the possibilty of any DB blitzing from anywhere OR show blitz and drop everybody into coverage, OR......

Bottom line: When GW decides to push that button, this could be alotta FUN!

Who else is jacked that we drafted Jenkins and dont have to worry about that position for the next 7-10 years?

The player that he is..., the caliber its awesome. This is his first year at FS, he is not even close to reaching his full potential, and I don't think there is anyone better to mentor him than Sharper.

I need to add him to my sig

Roman once mentioned how much he has learned from Sharper when they were both on the field. So getting them both on the field can only be beneficial to Malcolm as well I believe.
I hope they will give Sharper another contract next year, at least for one more year, before anyone else picks him up. Sharper will easily be able to play another 2 years minimum at the same level imo
