I think we can all agree the special teams play needs to be cleaned up pronto. I still cannot believe the penalty on 4th down giving the ball back to the Bengals which led to a tying TD drive. That is totally inexcusable. What's more frustrating is that it appears to be getting worse. That ST coach needs to have his backside chewed up and down.

1. Morestead needs to be on kickoffs again.



Other than that, there are 2 other solution I think we make in the offseason. Replace the special teams coach, and try to find a replacement for Roby.

No arguing against that our ST's are weak. I can't think of a single coverage or return unit that isn't playing poorly.

What was Cinci's average starting field position. It had to be in their mid 40s. I believe special teams almost cost us this game. What say you?

Special teams for the Saints have not been particularly special. Any ideas on why?? Is it coaching? Not enough Emphasis?? Personell?

Yes, it is coaching. This is the NFL having too many men on the field on the punt return unit is not excusable. The poor coverage on kickoffs is because of poor special teams coaching.

As Far as the bucks game is concerned never kick deep to a guy who can beat you.

The difference between us and Atlanta this season is they have great ST and we have pathetic ST. We win our first game against Atlanta if our FG kicker makes the OT kick. They lose to GB last week and to Tampa today if their ST don't shine.

1. We need better blocking on kickoff returns.
2. Decide if Reggie returning punts is worth the risk.
3. Have Hartley kick 500 FG's/wk.
4. Return kickoff responsibility back to Morestead permanently.

All of these things plus find a player that's willing to catch a punt. I'm so sick of watching Lance Moore letting every single punt bounce.
