The projection bulb in my Sony went out yesterday. I have ignored the message of it needing replaced for about a year, so I guess I got good use out of it. $159 for a new bulb, I think I will just go buy a new TV!!

Shop around. I just changed the bulb in my JVC. They wanted $149.00 for the bulb. I searched the net and found one through Buy.com for $80.00 plus $10.00 shipping. Works beautifully. In fact the picture is better than the original.
