Lack of production on the ground is what is hurting us most. I see all these post about Copper's fumble. What about Bush's inability to protect the football? Deuce is getting TDs but averaging like 40 yds. per game. Guys if we don't find a running game we are going to be left behind in the playoffs.

Another problem is the defense not forcing any turnovers. Can we please get an interception or a forced fumble or something. Charles Grant played great yesterday. He was all over the place making plays or always being near them. I seen alot of over persuing, especially on the two 70 plus yard runs and screen plays. McKenzie and Craft or toast and need to be replaced this offseason. I know McKenzie saved the tackle of the 72 yd. run but overpersued on the 76 yarder.

Other than those few negatives the passing game was awesome and Colston is still improving with every game and showing he will be an elite WR in this league. Brees is showing why he should be MVP. Where would we be without him? We played hard and fought the whole game, this is clearly not a Haslett coached loss.

You don't think our running game showed up yesterday? 124 yards on 29 carries, a 4.3 per-carry average?

I say it showed up, but it's kind of difficult to continue a ball control game plan when you're down by 14 early on, and then down by 14 again in the 4th quarter.

Under the circumstances, I'd say our running game showed it's still there very well yesterday.

Without 5 costly mistakes ( the 3 turn overs and Parker's 2 long runs), you can win alot of games in the NFL with 124 yds and a 4.3 yd per carry average.

Yesterday's game was a shootout. I would have agreed with you about other games somewhat.

We were still running the ball on that last drive before Copper's fumble. We were down by 14 way early. One of the things I was happy about is that we never abandoned the run. With Brees passing so well, why does it matter? The fumbles changed the game, as did giving up the big play on defense. Nothing more, nothing less.

And I agree big time about our defense not being able to get turnovers. That is going to continue to hurt us.

other than turn overs how can you say anything critical about our offense yesterday?????? gimme a break

I'm not refering to just yesterdays game running game...i'm talking about overall this season the team has not been running the ball well or consistently. While it has not hurt us much so far, it will when we get in the playoffs. Other than this the offense is doing a wonderful job.
