Carolina and the Falcons both trail the Saints by 1 game, assuming the Panthers win tonight. The Saints currently hold the tie breaker against the Falcons but Carolina has a win against the Saints. All these teams still have to play each other one more time.

I am going to start with Carolina because they worry me the most.
The Panthers have been a team that tends to get hot towards the end of the year and they have the schedule to help them along. Tonight they play Tampa at home and next week they get a struggling Rams team at home. The Bucs have only won 2 games this year and the Rams have lost 4 in a row. The Panthers then have to go on the road to play the Redskins who have lost 3 of their last 4 games. I see the Panthers making their move here and winning all of these games. This would put them at 7-4 and give them the momentum they need to start running off a long win streak. However, their schedule gets much more difficult after that. To finish the season off they have to go on the road to a Philly team that should be red hot before hosting the Giants and Steelers. Their final two home games will be against the Falcons and Saints on the road. Certainly circle that last game. The rest of their schedule has a combined record of 34-37.

The Falcons have lost two in a row against two of the worst teams in the NFL and the wheels look like they are about to come off in Atlanta. The only problem is everytime the Falcons are looking like they fall apart they win. The Falcons also have the most difficult schedule of the three teams. Next week they have to go on the road to play Baltimore and a defense that is more than fast enough to contain Vick, which means he is going to have to beat them passing the ball. Lets hope Ray Lewis is back because that is a different team when he is in. After the Ravens the Falcons get to go back home to play the Saints. This game is huge because if we win then the Falcons could be looking at a 4 game losing streak before going on the road. If we lose then the Falcons have righted the ship before playing two bad teams. After the Saints they have two straight road games against Washington and Tampa. To fininsh the season they start back home against the Cowboys and Panthers before going on the road to Philly. Their remaining schedule has a combined record of 33-28.

The Saints schedule is tough but it certainly could be worse. We at least have 4 of our last 7 at home. The teams remaining on our schedule have a combined 30-32 record. In this schedule we have 4 must win games. We have to beat the Panthers and Falcons for obvious reasons and we must beat the 49ers and Redskins because you can't lose games at home against teams your supposed to beat if your trying to make a playoff run. Even if we drop to the Bengals, Cowboys and Giants I still think we can take the division but we have to win the other games first.

BTW, get your tickets to the game against the Panthers now, everything is setting up for that game to be huge.

I just posted a similar (albeit shorter) post about the Panthers, a Buc win tonight would be huge. The Falcons I'm not as concerned about for the reasons mentioned, they just lost two in a row to weak teams and have the hardest schedule. It's looking more and more like 10-6, possibly 9-7 could win this division.

I like your thoughts but look at our next three I think they are the most important winnable games left.
Cincy in down and if we get up early and stay with them on D we can win that game.

Atl. come on Vick is not doing well and we can definately score on that D

49ers dont look past the because they will beat you but the game is in the Dome so we chould be ok.

Wow, you see the Giants going 2-5 in their last 7 games? They do have a tough schedule but I don't think they will lose 5 more games.

I don't think they'll lose 5, but with all the injuries, I don't see too many more wins. Maybe 3 or 4 wins.

The Giants are banged up and have to pay Jax., Dal, Car., Phili, and us. Thats rough without the way they keep loosing guys.

7-4, are you sure, theyve played 11 games already. we are 6-3, 9 games total. i beleive tampa is going to stomp the panthers, puting them 2 games behind. and we will bounce back, all this means is that we wont be 14-2.

Did you read or just skim? I said I think Carolina will win their next 3 games (bucs, Redskins and Rams) and will be sitting at 7-4 after those games.

Bucs have alot of people out tonight so i don't think they have too much of a chance of a win tonight, especially after panthers are coming off of bye week.

I don't look around the NFC south
to look for what if this or that.

I only look for our Saints to do what
they need to do to take our division.

We have to win to do that!!!!

We will be 8-3 going into December, and will raise the level of play during that month. I really believe that.
