Best Thing You Ever Ate (TOP 3) (1 Viewer)

Bread pudding at Commanders palace. This will be my last meal if I get the chance.

There was a restaurant when I was in High School on the Northshore called Cucina Med that I worked for and they served a Lambburger. It was one of my favorite meals and I have never seen it on another menu. I have tried a couple times to replicate it, but have never had much success. I'd be happy to see if anyone had a good recipe for it or just some tips.

However, the best meal I've had recently was the Filet Mignon at LaBoca in the Warehouse District. It's probably my current favorite restaurant in the city.

The Pappadeaux Platter at Pappadeaux's makes you praise Jah for creating taste buds and Seafood.

The Egg Rolls at the Chinese Kitchen on Carrolton Ave. in New Orleans.

The Roast Beef Po-Boy from Podners on Felicity St in New Orleans

A smoked turducken stuffed with crawfish tails was probably the best thing I have ever eaten --

Weinershniztel in Vienna --

Everything else is lumped together

I just ate at Commander's Palace this past Sunday for brunch. My wife's 20 year high school reunion was this past weekend so I met her in New Orleans.

I had the seafood gumbo, Eggs Couchon De Lait, and the bread pudding souffle.

Easily the best meal I've ever had.

Oysters Mosca

My first nectar cream sno-bliz from Hansen's

My mother's recipe for what she called "London Broil" (marinated flank steak)

Mmm, the Sea Bass at Stella on Chartres was easily the best food i have ever tasted. It was incredible, and i have eaten some pretty good food in my days.

I keep looking for the best Shrimp Po'Boy ever... I assume its in New Orleans somewhere, but I have yet to find anything that beats Ole' Tyme Grocery in Lafayette.

most of mine are 'sentimental' as opposed to straight taste, but...

1. shrimp po-boy from dolly's deli - not b/c it was the best shrimp i ever ate (but not bad either) but b/c it was my first after moving back home after 17 yrs -- sitting on my porch on n. alexander - it was justa great moment

2. a steak in a restaurant in bordeaux - the steak was great but that was really the first time i "got" a wine pairing - the combo of the wine and meat was out of sight

3. tiny little town in besalu, spain - my gf (at the time) stumbled on this place - guy had opened a rest. as his retirement thing to do - we were the only ones in the place so he just came out and asked what we liked - he prepared dishes and pairings - best meal ever

4. some italian dish on a mountain side in jamaica - again decent meal, but the view was freaking ridiculous

I just remembered the Off the Menu Po-Boy at Domilise's.
It was Shrimp & Provolone covered in Roast Beef Gravy.

My wife and I had it the day before our Superbowl win and it's the 2nd thing that I remember about that weekend.

I don't know that I could restrict a list to Top 3, but here are a few that come to mind recently -

The caviar service at Stella!
Cold-smoked sizzling oysters at GW Fins
A pastrami sandwich with russian dressing at Katz Deli in Manhattan

(honorable mention - foie gras gumbo from Chateau du Lac)
