Nativity / Creche Exhibition (1 Viewer)

I'm organizing what I hope will be an annual event. I would like to have people, churches, etc join me in displaying nativity sets from various countries and of various styles and ages. I would like to have at least 200 nativity sets on exhibit.

The exhibit will be in Metairie, LA on Saturday Dec 10 and Sunday Dec 11. It will be free to the public.

I can not offer anything but I would be interested in going see it. Post a reminder when the exhibit is about to open. There are some large churches in Lafayette that may be interested in participating. First Baptist Church of Lafayette being one of them.

I am not a religious person but I would still find this worth going see.

I can respect you for that honesty. To admit that is truely admirable. I mean, not everyone can admit that they are pretty.

this would be interesting
when i was touring europe i would LOVE going to the xmas markets and seeing all the creches (and enjoying whatever gluewein or hot chocolate they had)
in the states they usually seem more individualized (and tacky) - would like to see more communal displays

Cool Idea. I let me mother know. She may be interested in participating or in helping you find others that are. She's involved with the Hispanic Catholic community through the archdiocese and in her parish. She may know some people with unique nativities from the Latin American community.

That'd be great if you would do that. I just recently acquired a small nativity set from Mexico. I love how they make the halos on the figures.
