Wouldn't you know it. I have to be out of town on opening day for a conference in Hollywood, FL. Anyone know of any good sports bars there where I can catch the opening day game against the skins? Someplace frequented by Who Dats would be preferable:).

Shuck N Dive.
650 N. Federal Hwy.
Ft. Lauderdale.

It's a NOLA style bar/restaurant. New Orleans food, Abita beer, Saints, Tigers and Mardi Gras decor. Indoor/Outdoor TVs

They do not allow opposing team fans to stay during games to prevent fights or altercations.

PM me if you remember when it gets closer and I'll let you know if I am going to be there for the week 1 game, so we can try to meet up. Saint Ward frequents the place too. I don't know if I'm going that weekend because I have Sunday Ticket and I will already be there in week 3 with a group of alumni that live down here for a watch party.

It will also be a great place to go that Saturday night to catch the LSU game if you're a fan.

For all Saints and Tiger games that are at night, they use a projector and the side of a white panel truck in the parking lot with lawn chairs and tables all over the parking lot for people to sit, watch, eat and drink.

there's a "Hard Rock" casino or something in Hollywood Florida. Look it up. Forget what its called. But its a Seminole Casino. Real cool place with some bars in there. Love that place

I watched Tracy Porter intercept Big head Manning from the front row seats at Shick n Dive. Had to be 750 to 1000 people there. I stop and eat there every time i'm in Lauderdale. Good spot with good food.

I've been to the Shuck and Dive twice. The food was not very good, but the people are pretty nice.

Shuck N' Dive is definitely the place to catch the game if you are a Saints fan. You'll feel like your amongst friends even though everyone will be perfect strangers.

I've heard that from some people. I guess it depends on what you get. I go for about 4 games a year. It's bar food w/ some NOLA items. I've only tried a few things and no complaints. I generally just watch and drink though. A couple of my friends get the shrimp and grits every time and love 'em.

Main reason I go is because every Sunday I sit on my patio alone and watch the game. So a few times a season, I make the 40 minute drive to hang out with a bar full of fellow Who Dats. Makes me feel like I'm back home.

I caught the 2000 playoff game againts the Rams in a beach bar off of A1A in North Hollywood Beach. I was the only Saints fan there. You could hear a pin drop when Hakime dropped the ball.

I live in Hollywood off of Pembroke rd. across from Mardi Gras casino. I'm going there to watch if they are putting it on, but if not I may just watch it online. Don't know many places out here cause I only been here 2 months. But I did watch the Saints-patriot game at Hard Rock on 441

Definitely the place to go. The casino is nice enough but once you've seen one they aren't all that different. Just remember federal highway.........everything is off that road.

Shuck N Dive is the best place to watch saints games from WPB to Miami. Its packed with Saints fans and they have a familiar menu and Abita beer.

Not to mention that the casino will be filled with people that support many other teams

Questionable food or not, SnD is by far the friendliest place to be on game day. From the owner and staff all wearing Saints apparel, as well as every patron in the place, to the cold Abita beer, to the fact that every game commercial break the bar fills with Who Dat, Get Cruck, I Believe or a plethora of other familiar songs Saints songs or a random Who Dat chant by the diners.

You won't hear the Who Dat song at the casino during the halftime show, that's for sure.

It's been a couple of years since I was in Ft. Lauderdale but I'd recommend the Quarterdeck.
Good service, decent food and drink and they have several locations in South Florida.
I've been to two of them including watching a Saints game at the one in Davie, right across the street from the Miami Dolphins headquarters.
That one is a bit small but I had a good time watching the game there.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I'll take saintsfanfl recommendation and plan on going to SnD. I'll be getting in a little late on Saturday night then Sunday morning setup for the conference then off to the game. Little adjustment for me as the game will be at 1 pm instead of 10 am.
