Kromer talked with the analysts all week about giving Mark Ingram every opportunity to show what he can do, and he talked about sticking with the run game, with Mark Ingram as his main focus.

Then he got 7 carries. As I have been saying all along, I really feel like Ingram will thrive in Payton's offense. But due to Injury and Tyranny, he hasn't called the plays in 2 years. Ingram has to know that he will never succeed with Carmichael calling plays, or anyone OTHER than Payton at HC.

If we tell Ingram before the game that its "his game" and then tell all the analysts the same, and then we give him 7 carries, then I can't believe Ingram will ever get enough carries to be successful. He is the type of back who needs multiple carries. I can't remember the last time he got 3 carries on 1 drive. Heck, I can't even remember the last time he got 2 in a row.

Why give him multiple carries when he isn't doing jack with the ones he's getting now?

This is the complete lack of perspective I am talking about.

I saw 3 different carries of his where Ben Grubbs and De la Puente got blown up in the backfield. One of the plays forced Collins to stutter step, then tripped bringing Ingram down with him.

And even the point I just made isnt really the point. Ingram is the kind of back who needs carries. Out of a ball game with 60-80 plays, giving him 7 isn't going to allow him to find a groove. Backs need carries.

I'd rather see the ball in Sproles and PT's hands anyway. They produce.

He had a long of 8 or 9, and a good 3rd and short. I'd like to see him in space before I write him off, but he did his job today.

theres an old saying. "football is a team game"

when you blame ingram for our running woes.....you kind of ignore this statement

same thing goes for when people point fingers at an individual for losing or winning a game

its never 1 or 2 peoples fault. especially in the run game

Yes, because 13 carries for 32 yards is exponentially better than 7 for 21.
Sproles and PT do more than just run the ball for this team. Ingram don't have the skills PT and Sproles do.

Just look what Sproles did for this O last season. No need to mention what PT has done for the team in the past.

I guess I'm the only one who was happy we rushed it 25 times today. While we weren't as successful in getting yards, it helped open up the passing game.

And I am also tired of hearing "well we won". Yes, we did. But it was scary and too close for comfort. If I am Ingram, and the coach says "Don't complain, we won." I would want to remind him that Drew Brees had to throw 50 passes for almost 400 yards and have a 4 td half, only to win by a last second td negated a penalty.

This team has won the last 2 weeks, but it wouldnt be so close if we could get the run game going. And if Ingram could get 20 carries, I would LOVE to see what he could do. Running the ball take a mindset, a "I am going to beat your blank into the ground" mindset. The running game also helps the defense by controlling the time of possession. You guys saw the stats, when we have been in the top 10 in the league in rushing, we were 13-3 twice. The 6 seasons we have been outside of the top 10, we have been mediocre and barely .500

Its not rocket-science.
