N/S Thomas Dimitroff Begs Gonzalez to Stay (1 Viewer)

No shock here. They know that without Gonzalez, they lose Ryan's biggest dump-off target. That severely limits Ryan's effectiveness in keeping the chains moving.

I think Gonzalez comes back.

That says alot... instead of them drafting a young stud that can step in for Gonzales.. they'd rather beg Gonzo to stay. Mind you gonzo said this was his last year BEFORE this past season started so its not like Gonzo sprung this on them after they lost to SF.

Way to go Falcons.

I hope he's done. They know they're offense won't be the same without him and with Michael Turner a year older, Matt Ryan's numbers will suffer.

JUST RETIRE TONY!!!

You hit it solid right there. They only have themselves to blame if he walks, but talk about having an organization by the huevos

If Gonzalez is smart, he'll retire while he's still on top of his game and healthy. I've seen too many great players try to hang on and end up being injured or disenchanted by the experience--Montana, Stabler, Earl Campbell, Derrick Brooks, etc. Dimitroff is kind of pathetic to beg him to change his mind when he obviously feels like he's already given everything he has to the game. Shows how much their FO cares about their players.

He's not going to win a SB with the Falcons. Might as well call it a career. A stellar one.

I'd beg him too. I hate the Falcons, but Gonzo is clutch and is still playing at an extremely high level. With that being said, (being a Saints fan) I hope Gonzo retires.

this. ^^ :00000654:

Err, ummm.... not convinced? (Read this):

Running back Michael Turner said that he told Gonzalez that he needs to come back and defend the title if the Falcons go all the way. Gonzalez’s answer?

“He was like, ‘No, no, no, no,’” Turner said.

Teammate says Tony Gonzalez now

Falcons will NOT have the easiest schedule in 2013. The lone win they got was after a "scare" by the visiting Seahawks, and then they lost the following week after having a 17-0 lead on the 49'ers. The Falcons had HOMEFIELD advantage, and blew that.

I believe Gonzalez will factor that and a lot of other things in. With the Falcons' track record, he may not want to prolong the agony.

:gosaints:

LOL. If this was Jimmy Graham retiring at 36 after a 100 catch season, and Loomis talked him into staying we'd be gleeful and crediting Loomis with brilliant persuasion abilities.

When it's the Falcons attempting to fill a major offensive hole, it's a desperate move and lack of player concern.

Just admit what it is.....we are rooting for retirement of a still-productive Hall of Famer from a division rival, nothing more, nothing less. There is nothing immoral with asking Tony to play another season.

I don't think you understand. They are the CLOWNS. Is that not enough?

Mickey: Hey Tony, want to come win a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints?
Tony: well...
Mickey: 2 words, Drew Brees
Tony: where do I sign

Headline- All 4 Atlanta Falcons fan commit suicide after Saints sign Gonzales.

They know if he retires melted ice no longer has his safety blanket. Retire Gonzales....you will not win a ring with the Failcons
