Dad charged with murder after killed drunk driver that had just killed his sons. (1 Viewer)

Its extremely unfortunate that he lost his sons. i can't even imagine what that would be like. However, you can't just take the law into your own hands without expecting to face the consequences. Her in the USA, we have a judicial system in place. It isn't perfect, but it does work a majority of the time.

Let the man be. No, better yet, throw him a parade. I guarantee you, if you so much as bruise one of my kids, you have somethin' comin'. If someone were to kill one, they won't make it to the court.

Do you really think that? Do you really think people should enforce their own penalties on other people? This is what you actually believe? Or is this just vapid bravado "he got what he deserved mmhmm"?

what if it turns out the 20 year old kid wasn't drunk? do we cancel the parade?

A little of both honestly.

In this particular case, yes, I agree. (assuming all statements are correct) I feel like the drunk driver got what he deserved. It's not like the drinking age is new or "don't drink and drive" is new. He knew what he was doing and in doing so, killed 2 kids who didn't have a chance. Screw him.

In general, no. People can't be left with no laws. Anarchy is impossible to live with, but I do not like people who thumb their nose at the law, as if they are above it.

Americans have this weird romantic notion of vigilante justice. I guess it ties in with the mystique of the Wild West or something, but even our depictions of that are largely fictional. Those settlements were considerably more civilized and law abiding than portrayed in movies and TV. Things like the OK Corral were the exception, not the rule.

But anyway, while I think everyone understands the anger of the father in this situation, you can't go around meting out your own personal brand of justice. I think our legal system is a largely broken joke of an institution, but I still prefer it to a bunch of people running around pretending they're The Punisher.

"Investigators believe Banda had been drinking before the crash, and they're awaiting the results of blood tests on him."

so nobody here even knows if the kid was actually drunk but yet he got what he deserved according to some

this is the type of stuff that worries me about this country

Don't get me wrong. I have no romantic ideas about what the Wild West may have or have not been. I feel like we as a nation spend too much time, money and effort on idiots who don't have any regard for the law. I think if you take a life, you should forfeit yours. I think all punishments should be more severe in general. d&d first offense....5 years. If you hit someone, your car is taken and sold or just given to the person who's car you hit. Might make people think harder if it wasn't a slap on the wrist. I could go on but I'll digress.

Might have a tough time finding a jury that will convict in this case. Especially with no murder weapon.

You think we spend too much time, money and effort on idiots who don't have any regard for the law but you celebrate one of those idiots for taking the law into his own hands? :spit:

You can't take the law into your own hands. I know I'd be tempted to enact revenge if someone were to hurt my girls but I hope that logic and reason would eventually stop me from doing so.
