1st - OLB - jarvis jones, mingo, moore, dion jordan, or Ansah. 1 of them will fall and i think it will be jarvis or dion jordan due to medical conditions, will play SOLB for us since both excel in pass rushing and coverage
NFL comparison - Jarvis jones - less explosive von miller
Dion Jordan - weaker aldon smith
Mingo - Demarcus Ware/Jevon Kearse
Moore - slower dwight freeney
Ansah - JPP/Michael Strahan

3rd - FS - bacarri rambo - natural athlete, 4.5 speed, definition of a playermaker, has WR hands and not scared to hit. Perfect deep FS playmaker for Rob Ryan's Defense, incredible leaping ability. Ballhawk.
NFL comparison - Jairus Byrd
Another option is brandon jenkins or chase thomas if they drop this far. Could possibly go sylvester williams for Dline depth if they are confident with IAQ.

4th - CB - Robert Alford - 6"1 190 lbs, very aggresive and physical at the line of scrimage, excels at press coverage, and was at times dominant his senior season, he will fall due to lack of competition. Perfect CB for rex ryan's bump and run scheme
NFL comparison - Leon Hall
If unavailable, sean porter, corey lemonier, jamie collins or william gholston could be options

5th - OT - I couldnt decide between terron armstead of ricky wagner, armstead is a high risk high reward player, incredible athlete with rediculous speed and strength, reminds me of a more raw Tyron Smith
Ricky Wagner however is a dependable low ceiling right tackle, Great in the run game, decent in pass protection, reminds me of Stinchcomb

6th - CB - Sanders Commings - 6"2 222lb hulking CB, rare agility and speed for a CB his size, said to run a 4.49, very physical and a great press corner. Shows off his agility when using his body to contort in air and great hand usage when using his long arms to deflect multiple passes down the field. just how the patriots needed a tight end and drafted gronk and hernandez in the same year we do the same with alford and comings
NFL comparison - Brandon Browner
Tyrann Mathieu is a possible option also if commings is gone.

7th - OLB - Michael Buchanan - A pass rusher, violent hands and decent subpar 4.7 speed. Falls because after whitney mercilus left was supposed to be their go to pass rusher but failed to live up the the hype, also at 6"5 250 he has reached his max size with a not so wide frame wont be able to add weight, has tons of potenial, had 5 sacks and 6 pass deflections showing his athleticism in coverage. Great value in the 7th because of his rush and coverage ability. If he can add some pass rush moves to go along with his violent active hands he could be a steal.
NFL comparison - Brooks Reed
Quanterus Smith is another option if buchanan is gone. I like buchanan more though because of his ability to cover.

Jarvis or jordan would give us a pass rusher and coverage OLB which is a must
rambo will give us the playmaking FS we need and more depth at safety with him and IAQ, could even be reason to move jenkins to nickel cb where he could also play press coverage.
Alford and commings would be the exact kind of CB's rob ryan looks for and would give us insurance between patrick robinson, alford, commings, mack, and jenkins
armstead or wagner would give us a servicable tackle
michael buchanan would be worth the pick because of his pass rush potential

I see this draft giving us depth on defense and allowing for the best players to compete, one of them at the position will excel.

Im confident lofton and hawthorne will be great 3-4 ILB's but I'd also like us to sign Grant from the 49ers who looked great in patrick willis' replacement.

If all this comes together I see a top 15 defense.
I would like to sign a backup DE or NT to compete also.

But if somehow the bears gave us a great trade so they can land lane johnson LT or cooper OG I could see us trading back and having a draft as follows:

1st - alex okafor - rolb
2nd - jordan poyer/desmond trufant - cb
3rd - bacarri rambo - fs
4th - brandon williams - nt
5th - armstead/wagner - rt
6th - sanders commings - cb
7th - michael buchanan - lolb

I think this would also be a great draft, hopefully our front office and scouts are putting in work.

I would enjoy that draft, good post

Thank you, some will say there is no wa we use 5 out of 6 picks on defense but there arent really any holes in our offense besides tackle and there is no team who has no holes in their o line and we have always made due with subpar tackles since drew steps up into the pocket, i think we will sign a FA tight end which we need to, we are great at RB, guard and center, I'm fine at recievers with colston, moore, and graham and the potential of morgan and toon, we need defense.

Also guys tell me which draft u like better, the first where we stay put with our picks or the second with the trade down.

The second would be nice but let's be serious, we are not getting a 2nd Rd pick to move back 5 spots (at least not in this year draft), a 3rd maybe.

Well with Lane Johnson and Cooper looking like great LT and OG prospects u never truely know what a team could do, the Bears could place a higher value on them then some. Plus the bears are a very good team, offensively and defensively, the only thing they are lacking is oline, with a good oline draft they could be a very good playoff team. Different team's have different scouts and comittment to people and some will reach for some. Just like when the jaguars reached for Tyson Alualu. Anything is possible, maybe they would give us their second and swap 3rd round picks with us giving them an earlier 3rd round pick and us taking their later 3rd round pick. It is a definite possibility.

Maybe but if you look at draft value charts, our 1st Rd pick is worth 1050, the bears pick is 850 = 200 pts. The bears 2nd Rd pick is 380 pts, their 3rd Rd pick is 170 (ours is 195). The draft value chart is not always followed but teams but the bears would have to be willing to overpay a lot.

More realistically, I think we could get their 3rd and 5th pick

I definetly see ur point, if we stayed with the picks we have I still see us having a good draft, in example my first mock.

Also thank goodness this draft is so extremely deep on defense, if there was a year that u had to rebuild a defense on limited picks, this is the year, the strong point in this draft is in rounds 2-5, in fact i'd be fine with giving up our first for an early and late 2nd round pick if we cant land jarvis, mingo, or dion in the first.

I like your mockup, I just don't know that we will commit to a defensive player over an OT if we don't resign Bushrod. This draft is defensive heavy, and for some reason the mid-to-late round Loomis magic doesn't seem to work on his OT picks. I'd like us to pursue a stud OT and fill in the defensive needs later.

real deep TE and Wr group, sean might be tempted by one somewhere, NICE draft

Agree only problem though there is a HUGE drop off on left tackle talent after the first 3 studs, I dont even see anyone that is worthy of a second round pick, which is why i think we will cut vilma harper and smith to afford Bushrod. Anyways back to the left tackles the only ones that are worth taking at 15 are joeckel fisher or johnson, if matthews or lewan would have come out that would have been great, lewan is gonna be a bulldozer of a LT but unfortunately they didn't and I don't see Joeckel making it past the Eagles, Fisher past the Cardinals and LAne Johnson past the Chargers. our best bet is finding a way to retain bushrod.

Thanks man, I agree we need a TE but there are a ton of free agent tight end's i like this year like Anthony Fasano or Cook Jr. And I'd love to land someone like justin hunter in the draft but with our defense i just dont think we can afford to. Brees makes whoever he throws to better, I think between colston, graham, moore, morgan and toon and sproles we are well above average in the WR department, if we go offense the ONLY position we need is left or right tackle, we are absolutely solid at every other position, well besides tight end, but like I said, free agency, thanks for the input though! glad u liked the mock!

Oh I almost forgot, I'm really not as high as most are on this year's WR, they do have some good one's but I dont think its as deep as everyone is making it out to be, just my opinion, however with the crazy ammount of great defensive prospects we are in a rare opportunity to come away with some gems, I have faith in our front office.

Good draft, though I wouldn't mind us picking up a NT, maybe Montori Hughes from Tennessee-Martin in the 6th or 7th.

Ya definetly, if u look at the 2nd draft i have us trading down and taking brandon williams, i do also see a rotation of bunkley at NT, Hicks at LE, with hicks relieving bunkley at times at NT with tom johnson taking over at LE, then leaving johnson at LE and bringing in bunkley back to NT, then johnson coming out and hicks going to LE, then bunkley going out a hicks to NT and johnson back to end and so on and so on, the cycle continues! haha
