I'm not an idiot and will not have my hopes up thinking this will happen, but as another SR member stated the saint have always picked up someone no one suspected them of picking. What if Loomis, and Payton decided they needed to hit the jack pot, and traded up instead of down? Trading to get another 1st round pick like we did in '11 with Ingram, and Jordan? Trade a future first round pick, and a late round pick? Or something like that. What would you guys think?

Loomis and Payton aren't that unpredictable. Jordan was projected to us by a lot of ppl last year. I had us taking Jenkins in my own mock draft. The whole world new Bush was going to be drafted. Ellis was a tiny bit surprising. Meachem and Prob were probably the only ones out of left field.


The Ingram trade up wasn't expected, but after failing to trade up for beanie wells, in hindsight it really wasn't out of nowhere.


With all that said. I think you're probably not that far off. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Payton an Loomis make a big move to jump up and grab a big time player.


Too bad though, because there really aren't a lot of players that are sure fire NFL studs and there are a lot of good players to pick up in later rounds. I think if Loomis makes a big play for guys in FA, we could see a trade up and a win now at all cost mentality with the teAm.

We have only 5 picks, same as last year. Lack of draft picks year after year is really hurting us. I hope we trade down and pick up some more ammo in this very deep draft.
