I like the idea of grooming Wilson as Drew's replacement. Although, Drew has at least 7 good years left.

According to the article "VINT" means we are "very interested" Anyone have any idea why we would be very interested in this guy?

I imagined us taking on an UDFA (or 7th, back when I thought we had one) to replace Ivory, but this guy is a 3rd-4th rd level talent. There's no way...

I know that he was recruited by LSU, but IIRC, they withdrew his offer when he did not commit fast enough so he went to Texas A&M. IIRC, he is a speed back with good hands and good size. Basically, he is a talented RB that can be the complete package. And, he's a guy who never really got a chance to show what he could do in college because A&M had a crowded backfield and relied heavily on Johnny Football last year.

Maybe they think he could be a rookie free agent or they are looking at him as a late round pick in the event that they lose Ivory to someone making his a crazy offer. And as a rookie free agent, competition is never a bad thing and you can always use some good back up talent on the practice squad at the RB position.

A couple of things:

First, I believe the interest in Christine Michael is real since this is not the first time we have been linked to him. During the senior bowl, it was also reported that we liked him a lot.

Second, that the Saints do not interview an OT or a particular player does not mean that the team doesn't have any interests in that position or player.
