Oregon DE/LB Dion Jordan will have shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum after the Combine, and will miss three-to-four months.
This news has been known for the past couple of months. Jordan is participating in every drill at the Combine except for the bench press. The 6-foot-6, 248-pound freak athlete has a legitimate shot to be a top-five pick.

This isn't news and was always part of the plan.

Its news to me..

Didn't mean that against you, just that it has been in the plans for a while.

From January 8th...
Oregon senior OLB Dion Jordan will undergo surgery to repair a torn labrum, according to SI's Tony Pauline.
We had feared this news, and now Jordan is almost certainly going to miss the Senior Bowl. Many players have historically missed postseason events due to a number of reasons and still earned first-round selections, and Jordan could do the same. Still, his versatility in space and as a rusher would've been fun to see in Mobile. Besides this recent injury, Jordan does not have a long medical report during his time at Oregon.

It went largely under the radar with everything else still going on like playoffs. Should be noted that he played through the season with this injury as well.

sorry about that laptop died i i was going to edit,I didnt get to finish,No worries:9:,I posted because alot of Mocks have the Saints taking him.reason I posted an havent heard anything about it.

Does Oregon run a 3-4 defense? Or would Jordan be learning a new position if he came into our 3-4, and because of the shoulder issue, miss the rookie camp, OTA's, and mini-camps leading into our training camp? If that's the case, then it would seem like his rookie year would largely be a loss.

IIRC, he played 4-3 DE but was used a lot like a 3-4 OLB. He dropped into coverage very often and was used as a pass rusher. So the transition wouldn't be painful by any means. He wouldn't be able to participate in rookie camp drills and OTA's but I'm sure he would attend and at least begin to learn the nuances of what's expected of him. If it's 3-4 months recovery time then I'm sure he'd be ready by training camp and should at least fight for a roster spot.

He should have had surgery at the end of his college season.

This might just mean that Jordan is more likely to be available when the Saints pick at #15.

Is this an injury that has a very high chance of being 100% after surgery? If so why not trade down and take him at the end of the first. We could maybe pick up a second?

If it looks like he's going to slide that far that might be a great idea. If a few top prospects are sliding it will be a great idea.

not surprised, kid isn't built very strong, I think mingo,or jordan might be there in the 2nd.
