That's really bad and would probably explain his tendency to disappear at times in games.

Honestly, what are the odds he didnt know about this prior to the draft? I would guess that he had to have known about it, but tried to slip it past the doctors anyway. There are millions on the line after all.

This is extremely bad news for him. An ejection fraction of 44% is not quite heart failure, but it is getting there. If this is due to a cardiomyopathy, it could be career ending.

I think he may drop down out of the top 5, maybe the top 10 but not to 15. Top 12 I'd say. Unless it turns out to be worse, or something else comes up like an imaginary girlfriend or something...

Can't predict slippage until he's diagnosed. I doubt any team would draft him right now. that's a serious condition, he may never play again.

"@redwings924: @Dan_Hope As a Dr., Stars' career is in trouble. There are treatable reasons that his heart is functioning like that but his career at risk."

Not too well versed on heart conditions, but isn't that just a fancy way for saying he has an Irregular Heartbeat?

Irregular heartbeats don't cause reduced ventricular function, it's due to structural defects such as too stiff walls, too thick walls, or valve dysfunctions like stenosis. If it's a hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, that is potentially fatal and what usually causes athletes to drop dead in games.
