Since we have made it clear that we are not going to tag Jermon Bushrod and let him test free agency, I think this guy is our 1 yr answer. He was pretty good protecting Joe Flacco in the playoffs and especially in the Superbowl against that 9ers pass rush. He is a free agent and he is 34 yrs old. Ravens have bigger contracts to take care off at this point. I think if Bushrod doesnt come back, we should get him on a 1 yr contract. He will come cheap with the age factor too ......

I think there have been some character issues with him while he was with the Vikings and even at the Pro Bowl? But if hes cool and comes and a decent price then maybe worth checking him out.

Agreed, he's a great combination of talent and "one year left in the tank". If Lane Johnson is there at 15 and Jarvis Jones didn't drop as expected, I'd like us to select LJ, start him off at RT (he played both tackle positions at Oklahoma) opposite McKinnie, then move him to LT next season. Or OL was very inconsistent last season, and that would give us a potentially dominant OL next year.

We can't afford a tag. I think he'll get re-signed by us.

with a balanced attack defenses wont be able to just pass rush all day like last year. bushrod isnt great bnut he is pretty good. we passed 60 times some games and teams could just tee off due to poor playcalling. i think bushrod will be back with us

Why would we get a 34yr old LT instead of giving the next man up a shot? Seems like a waste of time and money to me.

We need a solution for the next 4+ years not just 2013

Pretty sure he was involved in: EDIT: The Love Boat since I can't embed right today...

wasnt he horrible all season until the playoffs?

Well not entirely-basically his play was lacking but that had everything to do with the fact that he refused to show up in any semblance of shape and had to battle minor injuries. He didn't really play much until the playoffs when he finally was in shape and then he was extremely effective-- as he usually is when properly motivated. Kinda hope he would be a last resort for us.

I think Bushrod re-signs at a fair price once he discovers no one is particularly excited about his free agency.

I don't think you can just keep plugging guys in and expect the O-line to function smoothly as a unit. Continuity is a good thing.

This is similar to what we did in 2011, passed over Matt Tennant (next man up) and signed 34 year old Olin Kreutz (to play center).

This is an identical situation; neither Tennant nor Brown can be counted on as full time starters.

Who says we are not going to try and sign him before the 16th?
