*Many people were impressed with Ziggy Ansah’s 4.56 40 yard dash at 271 pounds, and rightfully so. But they would have been more impressed if they knew Ansah didn’t even train for the event. Unlike probably every other player in attendance, Ansah kept going to class and never worked with an outside trainer to prepare for the combine. In fact, the 40 yard dash he ran at the combine was the first of his life, according to his agent Frank Bauer. It should be noted, however, that Ansah did run 100 meter dash and the 200 meters on the Brigham Young track team before he became a football player.

There's guys that can train all year for this and run crap times. *cough*Te'o*cough* This guy falls out the bed one morning with no prep and runs a 4.5 40.

He's the kinda dude that makes other football players jealous cuz he's just a natural. In every sense of the word.

Damn. First it was the BYU coaches didn't teach him the difference between stances, and had him out of position. And now this?

If he isn't a top 10 pick there is a reason those 10 teams are drafting in those slots.

This kind of concerns me.. First him not knowing different stances..Now not training for probably the most important day of his life

Yeah. Not preparing isn't good football stuff. Add to that he admits that he freezes up when he's coached. Add to that, he will be coached. Add to that, the saints don't' play raw players. I like a lot ofthings about ansah. But not in the first round.

And you're blaming him? The dude ran faster than many RBs, WRs and DBs without training because he chose to go to class... its not like he was out clubbin'.

That's a freakish athlete if I've ever seen one. I'm officially on the "Ziggy @15" bandwagon.

I actually love it. Its like school training kids to pass the leap. You should be able to pass the LEAP if you've been able to pass your classes. Regardless of his limited experience...he has natural football instincts. It showed in his drills...it shows on the field.

I do.agree....our coaching.staff.doesnt have the patience.for young players which is why i doubt we draft him if available.

I don't disagree that he is a stud and I would love to have him; however, I'm calling BS, there is no way this this was his first 40 yard dash of his life. That is just smoke from his agent playing up the athlete card.

Imagine what he could of done if he would have trained... If your going to do something you have to prepare for it no different from taking a test..
You don't think all of the greats train? Brees, Manning, Brady etc

Would his draft stock had gone up any higher had he done better? he had a VERY good combine... its not like he stunk up the joint. He also has a pro day to build on his strong combine. PLUS he has game tape that backs up his combine numbers.

But again the dude was finishing up his schoolwork I would definitely excuse his lack of training for that. It means he's putting a premium on his education. He has plenty of time to prep for his pro day and I expect him to do even better.

I actually hate that these guys go to these combine bootcamps. Thats the reason u get guys who look like 4.5 guys on game day and bust out a 4.3 at the combine.

You have a problem with him finishing his school? This says more about him than training for a combine that he obviously didn't need to b/c he has tons of raw talent. This guy will be huge.
