And these are the people gun control advocates only want to have guns (in addition to military) *facepalm

lol what a jerk, cops always harass motorcycles here I guess. Ill find out soon, Harley is 100% now.

it obviously wasn't a bad accident but it's just more evidence of cops (ab)using their position for their own personal benefit....

Well yeah. I just thought it was going to end worse I guess. Maybe a bit more threatening. More shouting. I don't know. I guess it may be a sadder commentary that that level of altercation is so easily dismissible in today's society.

If the rider behaved in any other fashion, he would have probably been arrested for something. Hard to imagine how he stayed so calm. He didn't even throw out one "its your fault, insert favorite expletive here", which I think I would have.

the only thing surprising about it was that he knew it was being filmed and he didn't bust the guys camera up. Abuse power is the obvious goto instinct in that situation, this one just did it a little stupider than most. :jpshakehead:

That was pretty tame. The cop was acting an ***, but to be fair, it looked like the rider practically made a complete unnecessary stop in the road. He had a good car length or 2 between him and the car switching lanes. If I was behind him, it would have ****** me off. But also by the looks of it, the cop was either A) tailgating him or B) eating a doughnut and not paying attention (sorry, it's obligatory).

I thought the rider handle it extremely well though, kudos to him for biting his tongue. The cop was still completely at fault.

notice to tailgaters: it is your responsiblility to leave enough room to stop if the person in front of you stops/has blowout/ has flashback from the 60s or anything else.

notice to those eating doughnuts, profiling, checking your iphone or admiring your gun while tailgating: see above.

he can be ****** all he wants, it is pretty clear who was in the wrong.

Unless there is a posted speed minimum, he can go as slow as he desires. No doubt the cop was following him too closely. I understand what the guy on the bike was saying, I've seen people come over on top of bikes, he was being cautious of that guy with his blinker on.
Cop was just being an ***..

If you look at the cops face and body language right as he walks up, you can tell that he knew he was in the wrong. He tried his hardest to deflect the blame onto the rider.

What's wrong with the cop getting out of his car and saying, "Sorry sir, my fault, are you alright? Are you injured? Can I help you any further?" I mean accidents happen, regardless of who you are or what you do. Own up to your mistakes.

Kind of interested to see the cops dash cam footage.

He was probably (it sounds as though) so stunned that he was being blamed he didn't have time to get angry. The cop is obviously practiced at using the threat of abuse of power to get out of trouble. By immediately going on the offensive it put the motorcycle rider so on his heels he had no real time to fully grasp how ****ed up the situation was.

It was pretty tame but you have to keep in mind, motorcycles are dangerous. I mean, even just a mild wipe out on a busy road can have catastrophic consequences. I always give motorcycles way more space then I would a care for that reason. Clip a car, insurance sucks, clip a motorcycle possibly kill someone.

They weren't traveling that fast and while the motorcyclist was probably being over cautious on the lane change, the cop had absolutely no business being that close to the motorcycle.
