Saints official cap number (as of March 1, per NFL.com) (1 Viewer)

Good catch, I completely looked over that. Sportrac.com has us at 127.26 which would put us at roughly 4.26 mil over. Still better than 6 although not "official".

Not accurate. Spotrac doesn't include Gallete deal because numbers haven't been released on contract. You can add a few million there as he signed for around 3/$12M base on JG tweet.

Yeah except isn't the first year in a contract extremely cap friendly? So if 3 years 12m is accurate what are we looking at a 1.5m cap hit? Less? I remember Bunkleys first year on contract was way lower than what most of us expected.

Somehow last week we had it down to like 100k over, apparently that was wrong. I'm confused how we are still 5 over.

We did, and then we tendered BDP, Ivory, and Galette. Pat Yasinkas then speculated we were at $6 million over the cap. Then it was announced we had agreed to a deal with Junior, and you can almost bet that his cap figure is south of the $2.023 million one-year tender he received. So, I am willing to bet that the number is closer to the sportrac number than anything else.

But the other issue I see is that things are so fluid that I do not know that anyone, outside the Saints and the league, have a true handle on our cap status. Last year, at times when we were reported to be near or over the cap, we were signing players.

$2 mil each to Ivory and de la Puente for their tenders, then Galette's contract, with speculation that the first year probably counts around $1 mil. $5 mil total.
