It taught us it doesn't matter who makes all the "sexy" moves in the offseason... especially early on in free agency.

Philly had their "Dream Team" a couple years ago, and last year Tampa Bay made all the excellent moves with their ridiculous cap space. Both teams royally sucked the following season.

This season may be tricky... I don't know what cap space we made by restructuring JV and WS, but we must find money to sign a LT, QB, and some more help for the defense (pick a position group).

I can't wait to see what Loomis does when we finally start bring guys in. Every year we fans talk about how everyone is getting better while our front office sits on their hands, and every year... like clockwork... Loomis surprises everyone with great value moves that makes us better.

Whatever moves we make I'm willing to bet they'll be some "man I didn't think we had a shot at him" signings.

All teams overpay free agents on day 1 of free agency.... except the Saints.

We'll sign some players because we have no choice... we have holes... but we sign the right player at the right price. That's Loomis's M.O.

Patience folks... patience.

WHO DAT!

Notice the other teams not signing anyone to big contracts today?

Patriots
49ers
Ravens
Packers
Giants

The Saints are in good company.

Exactly, this is so Loomis, I was honestly surprised last year when we pulled the trigger on Lofton and Hawthone.

Our defense was the worst in NFL history.

I think if we didn't learn anything from that, we can expect 7-9 or 8-8 at best again.

Right, because the addition of Sean Payton won't affect that at all

Look at it this way. We got Drew the biggest contract in history at the tiime and we lost Nicks, Meachem, Porter, Bushrod and Daniel.

Now Flacco has the contract, and in a couple of days the ravens have lost Boldin, Kruger, Ellerbee, Lewis and possibly Reed. Take your pick. We did better.

I really want to know our numbers but I am for not spending money if we really don't have an option that bring depth at the right price. Worst case scenario I prefer to save money for next year thinking on Graham's contract, and getting extra picks next year.

We also tend to forget that our free agent signings for the year are Lofton, Hawthorne and Bunkley. Just look at their contracts, Loomis was smart enough to be able to convince them to sign long term deals instead of taking a one year deal with another team last year.
