I consider myself to be somewhat of a tech, but somehow or another I have not takin the time to learn how to utilize twitter.

I really feel deep down inside that im probably missing out.
I feel like I am not taking advantage of this like I should.

Could someone give me a twitter for dummies step for step?

Thanks

1. Install Twitter App on Phone

2. Create Account

3. Search for and follow a combination of local and national sports writers and Saints players.

4. Enjoy breaking sports news all day in list form right to your phone.

Step 1: google twitter

Step 2: google anything else you want and forget about twitter. :9:

Horrible advice.

Tons of useful things to use twitter for. Especially if you're a sports nut, like someone else mentioned. Even more so if you are into fantasy football or baseball. Follow one of the 'insiders' who only post relevant information and set it to send you texts when something major happens. By the time anyone else finds out about something, like who Shanahan will start at rb that week, the new rb will already be on your team.

Any other useful uses? I do not do fantasy football but I could see that being a good use. Other than that, I am not really interested in what anybody has to say. If it is important, SR will be discussing it. I like Bress but I really don't care to know that he is at the zoo with his kids or that he has to take the trash out.

I too do can not find many useful need for twitter.

Pretty simple and easy setup, find people/topics you're interested in and follow them. News comes to you in your own personalized, digital newspaper feed. I'm not really into the facebook thing cause there's too much crap in my feed I don't care about, twitter feed has nothing but quips/news/links I dig.

Don't you know? The wiz is better than everything us commoners use.

need a smartphone or tablet. it's useless on a desktop.

also the official twitter app is horrible - at least on an iphone. They completely ruined tweetie which was a great third party app before they purchased it.

I use tweetbot and twittelator. I like twittelator for its landscape timeline. But I mostly go with TweetBot, it is more of a work horse and gets the job done.

I'm curious how do you get all these followers? Do you tweet the person or something like that? How can you read all the tweets if you have thousands of followers?

Google+ is what I can't figure out. Like others have said, pick your fav topics n follow the "experts" in those subjects and it all comes right to your timeline

Followers read your tweets. You only get the tweets of the people you follow. Different.
