OT FAs still available (1 Viewer)

So Sebastian Vollmer and Andre Smith are still out there. Both look like they will be had for significantly less than Bushrod... As much as I'd like another defensive piece added, I think the best move is getting one of these guys. Smith is strictly a RT but Vollmer is able to play both sides and either would be an upgrade to what we have.

If we signed Smith we would still have to look at taking the best OT available with our first or third round pick.

If we signed Vollmer we'd have more wiggle room to go BPA at 15.

Bryant McKinnie is a good LT when in shape. He was last year for the Ravens run. Maybe he can stay motivated in our locker room.

Bryant McKinnie is a good LT when in shape. He was last year for the Ravens run. Maybe he can stay motivated in our locker room.

He has weight issues and is old. Besides I'd rather the team not sign a one year veteran stop gap and get a young tackle that will be here for a while, IIRC Vollmer is 28 and Smith is 26.

What about Will Svitek LT from the Failcons ?? If I remember correctly, he did a pretty good job replacing Baker when he was injured.

The longer Vollmer sits out there, the better chance we can afford him.

I would love for him to be the guy long term.

With him being a right tackle, we can sign him at right tackle money and play him at left tackle. Quite a coup, I tell ya.

Over the 4 years he's been in the league he's only made $3,105,000
