First proposal: The red-flag rule would be revised. No-brainer.

NFL proposes to change "Jim Schwartz" rule. If you challenge illegally, you'd lose a timeout. Play will still be reviewed. No brainer.

Instant replay proposal: Ruling of incomplete pass would be reviewable through a fumble.

Safety proposal from Competition Committee: Changes to PAT and field goal to reduce injuries in line. Snapper becomes defenseless player.

Competition Committee proposes scuttling of tuck rule.

New tuck rule would result in a fumble if the quarterback is in the process of moving the ball back to his body after pump.

ProFootballTalk‏<S>@</S>ProFootballTalk
Competition Committee proposes allowing tight ends to wear numbers 40-49.

Competition Committee proposes complete ban on peel back blocks, even inside tackle box.

ProFootballTalk‏<S>@</S>ProFootballTalk
Competition Committee proposes preventing players to use helmet outside of tackle box. No forcible blow with top of helmet.

also... proposal would beef up uniform police... players would be forced to wear knee/thigh pads if it's passed

and teams would have to make sure the field is in good condition... so what we saw in Washington in the Seahawks/Redskins playoff game last season doesn't happen again

and then there's this...

Committee asked about narrowing the goal posts. Got little support for it.

You missed a couple:

All players and coaches in the presence of the Commissioner must address said commissioner as either "Sir", "Mr. Commissioner" or "Your Precious Highness".

Safety proposal from Competition Committee: no tackling is allowed except in the case of a "group hug" whereby two or more tacklers surround the tacklee and hold him with their arms until everyone as a group gently tumbles to the ground.

I have been saying teams should be more responsible for field conditions for a while now. Glad to see it gaining some traction. :9:

Wearing knee/thigh pads is less about uniform police and more about safety police seems to me.

They better not ban peel back blocks. These guys get paid millions of dollars. Stop wussifying the sport and let them hit for God's sake

Yessir, I had totally forgot about him forsome reason but my friend reminded me of him. And Chris Cooley used to wear #47 too; I think it was #47? I know it was in the 40's.

They all started out as Fullbacks (FB's, like RB's, can wear #'s 20-49) and were eventually moved to TE and kept their original numbers. We would've seen a lot more TE's than just Clark, Cooley, and Walker wearing numbers in the 40's if this was already officially regulated
