I'm watching film all day of different prospects and this kid would be dynamic electric phenomenal in our offense. I'm talking all pro caliber at kr/pr and all purpoes offensive weapon reverses, in the slot and deep.

I hope we fill needs in FA and nab this guy our offesns will be set for years...

We have this guy - he's called Darren Sproles. We have far more pressing defensive needs, particularly when changing a defensive philosophy to a 3-4.

P.S. - "dynamic electric phenomenal" adjective mayhem!!!

The NFL is all about playmakers. The bottom line is Tavon Austin is going to be a plamaker with his game changing speed (think Percy Harvin). I'm all for it if the FO thinks he's the BPA.

Well sproles doesn't run a 4.3

But I don't see Austin being taken at fifteen.

K vac, Jones, or KeKe

we have sproles for maybe anotehr year or 2 at his rate...

and btw austin > sproles

kr, pr, wr, rb the guy runs a legit 4.25 and is a nightmare for cbs....

If we take a wr at 15 which I don't think we should I really hope it's cordarelle Patterson, he is the only one worth it, dude looks like the next Andre Johnson, 6"3 220 runs a 4.42 and catches with his hands, also played rb for Tennessee so he is strong

Austin would add a different dimension to our offense but with our defense going through a total re-structuring and our offensive tackle situation looking how it is, don't know if we can afford to take him at 15. Not saying it wouldn't be a great pick but is another weapon at WR really going to make our team that much better? You can only throw to one player on any given play and we already have Graham, Colston, Moore, and Sproles out of the backfield.

It think it will.

He is the x factor in this draft.. the guy who will beat great defenses....

we need that against seattle, SF...

and colston, moore, sproles are near 30....

I will agree. Dont know if he's better than sproles but I watched Austin make my OU defense look silly last year. He was toying with them all night with 572!!!!! all purpose yards!!!!

With that said, we really dont need him..lol

I don't know which is better Austin or Patterson, but Austin would do wonders in this offense. If Jarvis Jones or Star is there (maybe Lane Johnson) you take them other wise grab Austin and watch other teams try and keep up.

Sproles is great, but he is different. This kid can come across the middle, go long, and is FAST. Sproles is quick. There is a big difference.

Patterson is the huge fast deep threat we never had

Drew Brees is like Rumplestilskin in that he has turned straw into gold. Colston, Moore, Graham, and which ever unwanted and undrafted guys you can think of that we've brought in that has found some success owe a lot of their success to Brees. He doesn't need to have a Julio Jones kind of receiver to make the offense work. While I would never pass up a great WR if we could really afford it, I think at this point the Saints need to do everything they can to make sure Brees and the offense's efforts are as well complemented as possible on the defensive side of the ball. I also think the defense won't be as bad as some people think, because the scheme change is very much like the scheme that helped us win a Super Bowl. With that said, I would rather see the Saints do everything they can to fix the D, and the only offensive position I would want to see drafted is OT. We were ranked 3rd on offense last year and that was without Payton. I think the offense will do just fine without Tavon Austin, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want him. It just means I'd rather a more respectable D that doesn't force the offense to be incredibly special just to win games.

yeah its tempting because I think you need good enough defense to pass a certain threshold but after that great defenses arent what win in the NFL nowadays.

if you have that unstoppable guy he will win playoff games...

I would argue having Tavon Austin on this team is as good as an LT....with how quick we can get the ball to him in the screen game, handoff, out route, slant....teams won't be able to rush us like in 2009 with reggie and a quick meachem and devery on the outside....

good luck blitzing us when we can just dump it off to that guy and he goes 40 yds in 4.2 secs..

drafting at 15 would indicate we expect him to the be #1 WR..that will not bode well with Colston. I think if we trade down, it's a maybe.
