NFL | Report: Cardinals unlikely to land QB Palmer - Rotoworld.com

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports it would be "a real surprise" to people around the league if Carson Palmer landed in Arizona.
Schefter's report runs in direct contrast to previous ones by Scout.com's Aaron Wilson and CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora. While Palmer remains on the fast track out of Oakland, it appears he'd be more willing to target a backup job than become a starter, since Arizona is the only team to whom he's been linked that needs a first-string quarterback. Palmer is 33 years old. It's possible he wants to finish out his NFL career as a clipboard toter.

Oh yes. MAKE IT HAPPEN LOOMIS! ... please.

Why would any team want a guy who has shown starter skills, but is resigned to playing "clipboard holder"? What a nihilist ( )

SO you are saying that teams should only pick up trash as back ups? Are you saying you would not want Palmer as your back up?

this particular guy has shown that "me" is more important to him than "us". He's shown flashes of talent, but no staying power where the effort required to be great is concerned. He has however, shown a great willingness to accept contracts that are worth far more than he is.

Gimme an UDFA that we can develop (not Cantfield, please) at a reasonable rate any day over Palmer. He voted for his brother for the Heisman, for God's sake! If that doesn't show questionable judgement, then I don't know what does.

Az looking into acquiring QB Carson Palmer, would need to restructure his current contract, compensation would be conditional draft pk(s).

Looks like Arizona may pull the trigger on a trade for him.

Mike Jurecki of XTRA Phoenix reports the Cardinals are "looking into" trading for Carson Palmer.
Getting any compensation for a 33-year-old quarterback with a $13M salary would be quite the coup for Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie. Per Jurecki, the Cards would need Palmer to rework his contract and the only picks they're willing to surrender would be "conditional," based on play time and performance. A late-Friday tweet from the Arizona Republic's Kent Somers also indicated the Cardinals might be willing to part with "late pick(s), conditional" for the two-time Pro Bowler.

LOl. He even said that he is not willing to take a pay cut for Raiders, but he is willing to play for a contender for a less amount of money. He was just a disgruntled player because of his team. He wants to play for a contender. Can you blame him?

Use common sense here. He doesn't want to take a pay cut in Oakland, why would he play for us for 500,000 to 1m a year? He wanted,.what, 13m in Oakland?

Ok, I caught your next post. You are on track.
