Report: Abraham has rebuffed Falcons | ProFootballTalk
Posted by Mike Florio on May 6, 2013, 9:52 PM EDT

Multiple teams remain interested in former Falcons defensive end John Abraham. Including, reportedly, the Falcons.

According to Mike Garafolo of USA Today, the Falcons have remained in contact with Abraham since cutting him before the start of the 2013 league year in March. Abraham, however, has told the Falcons he won’t be returning.
This made me smile.

I hope they don't erase my comment :hihi:

Smart move for Abraham. If he ever wants to win a Superbowl, his best bet is to sign with someone other than Atlanta.

thats dumb, abraham signed with the falcons for 3 years and they cut him after a year? Why didn't he ask for more guaranteed like roman harper? Thats his fault.

Sad thing for the clowns is that he was all the pass rush they had. Where are they gonna generate 10-11 sacks? Osi? He'll be in this boat next year if he makes it till then.

it may be partially his fault, but I also think its bad business by the Falcons. They gave him the contract, he had a decent year last year. Led the team in sacks, and then they cut him and now want him to take a pay cut. That's bad business. The Falcons did not honor the contract.

I'm happy as he'll that he's gone. I hope Osi doesn't match his production.

Steven Jackson has a better chance of matching Abrahams production than Osi does. I am a firm believer that (like Spags) Osi benefited from playing next to amazing d-line talent. JPP, Tuck, their dt's have been solid. Wait til he gets to play in Atlanta and his best teammate on defense is the timeout.

well its business, they took the money he would get paid and got a younger pass rusher in Osi and got steven jackson. id take osi and sjax over just abraham.

Ok then they need to stop calling him and begging him to come back lol. You can't have your cake and eat it too. (Whatever that means)

Make it happen Loomis. Probably can get him for the minimum. Then he can kick ATL tail twice a year. That would be awesome if we get Abraham in the black and gold....:9:

wish we could get this guy, every year 10 sacks with limited play

I agree. Can't have both ways. If they want Abraham back he never should have been cut in the first place. Why didn't they ask him to take a pay cut? That is as bad as San Diego asking Tomlinson to come back after they cut him and after he's already retired.

Last I heard, The Titans were on the verge of signing Abe to a deal. I'm just very pleased that the Falcons won't be getting him or Clabo back. My friends who are Falcons fans have said all along and even after the draft, that they would "definitely" be re-signing Abe and Clabo. Not so fast my friend.

lol...no...no you can't.

But yes, I'd love to have him.
