Grotz: Stallworth is next in line for a new deal
Bob Grotz, Of the Times Staff
11/19/2006

Last week the speculation was the Eagles had written Donte’ Stallworth o t of their future by writing a five-year contract extension for second-year wide rece ver Reggie Brown. Privately the Eagles denied that was the case and for good reaso . A source said they’ve had contract discussions with Stallworth.

Stallworth, with one year left on his contract, said the Eagles are the perfect situation for him. From quarterback Donovan McNabb to Andy Reid, Stallworth believes he has a chance to contribute and win each and every week.

Stallworth’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, declined comment when asked about a new deal for his client. Like Stallworth, Rosenhaus thinks there’s a chance something could be worked out before the end of the season, although the Eagles obviously are in the driver’s seat.

"We’ll take it one day at a time," Rosenhaus said.

Looks like a number 3 for Donte....well worth it.

I hope they get it done. The sooner the better.

yeah I want them to sign him so we get our #3 draft pick!

HAHA Garcia loves MEN

As long as he's hitting Stallworth about seven times a game for the next couple of weeks and Donte looks indispensable, I'm intergalactically indifferent as to what he does with the rest of his time.

Maybe if we played Philly in a wild card game and Stallworth lit us up for over 200 yards recieving they will sign him. Of course we'd lose the game but we'd get that pick!
