many on this board have complained that Deuce hasn't gotten the ball enough. but in the past 2 weeks Bush has clearly looked like the better back. yes Deuce had 2 TD's against Pitt, but the knee is clearly starting to give him problems, he just doen't have that burst and change of direction he had in the first 4 games. and since the Tampa game when Reggie had negative yards rushing, he has made an effort to hit the holes and set up his blockers, and came a shoe-string tackle away from a possible long run yesterday.

look we are all looking for reasons why we lost yesterday, but the playcalling and distrbution of touches had nothing to do with it.

Deuce looked fine to me yesterday. He had five or six runs of 5 yards or more, hitting the holes quickly and with power. Plus on each of his 3 receptions he ran with authority. The only play he really looked bad on was the 3rd and 1 play, and I put that on the o-line getting blown up, not on Deuce.

Certainly Reggie has looked much better the past 2 weeks (anything would look an improvement over the game at Tampa), but they've each had their share of touches and done well with them.

I don't care what the stats say or anything else but I have a feeling the Caoching staff got a little scared that Duece would not hold up through the playoffs so they were trying to give him some rest. We have to get their first and it is time to pound the ball with the 2 man punch. I mover the Bengals game early this week lets get fired up

We're like... the reverse of Martyball right now...
Coryallball?

Thread not entirely out of control. Bush is running with much better authority all of a sudden, and he's still the bigger threat in the passing game, although Deuce is far, far better than he gets credit for.

I'm sticking with my theory that he's still hurt and that Reggie will continue to run hard between the tackles.

i'm not knocking Deuce, i just think that Reggie is finally starting to put it together. i'm tired of everybody saying if "Deuce touched the ball more we'd win" thats ridiculous. we have averaged 550 yds oer games over the last 2. how can anyone argue with that. stop the turnover stop the losses.

I think the bottom line is that we have two good backs....we just need to use them more to run

the yardage is great, but we are not controlling the clock. When playing teams like cinncy you need to keep the offense off the field. This is where i feel we are not utilizing duece enough.

Look back at our victories... and look at Deuce's production...

then, close your browser, reopen it, and look at Deuce's lack of opportunities TO produce in the losses... you'll notice an alarming trend...

We're not tryig to say that "Deuce + touch = win," it's not that simple... BUT... when you virtually abandon the run with so much time left... you become PREDICTABLE... sub Deuce's name for Bush, Stecker, or hell, even Karney, and I'd still be saying the same thing.... DON'T BE PREDICTABLE... which we were...
with noted exceptions, Cincy expected throw and got it... expected run and got it... and when they expected throw and we came out with a run... we succeeded...

PS... we've averaged 550 yards in offense over the last two games and lost both of them... big pretty numbers only mean so much, we've won by doing less...

Hey i like reggie but just because he finally had some positive yards and no fumbles does not make him the better back sorry. That being said i think we need to run a bit more 23 touches between two backs not enough to get going
