(Been away from the boards for a little bit.)
No need to post any, seeing as how the MainStreamMedia machine is ALL over this one and giving it as much coverage as the Foley affair. Man, I've written over 100 songs (some good, some bad), prose, and poetry, and in my most angry, maniacal states of creative rage, I have NEVER come close to anything as despicable as what this guy has written. Some would say (one of my favorite MSM qualifiers) that this might be indicative of what truly lies in the man's soul. Hypocrisy, thy name is politics.....

flame on, my lovelies......

Oh yeah, and I was all for Foley resigning and having his butt kicked....

Board has been down.

Even if it had been up, we can't discuss the details because they're too graphic.

I've written short stories and novelettes, some with adult content.

Haven't read Webb's stuff yet. It's a smear on Allen's part. You can't draw conclusions about someone's beliefs based on a fictional work they've written. Like I said, a smear.

I'm glad I'm not running for anything. Yikes.

Still, the link Dave posted had some humorous headlines:

McCaskill's Links to Voter Fraud Deepen
Democrat: Webb a pornographic smut monger
The ultimate selfishness of Michael J. Fox
A Democrat Ate My baby.

ROTF.

I think I may have found what Maverick68 was looking for. Leave it to the loveable Lefties at Wonkette.com.

Virginia Senate Race: Still the Gold Standard for Lunacy

Jim Webb is a pervert. Lord knows why the Allen guys picked this day above all others to brand him as one (we read the stupid novel excerpts weeks ago), but they did, and now he is.

In case you’re a sensible person who doesn’t read Drudge or other blogs, here’s the deal: Virginia Senatorial candidate Jim Webb is a novelist, he writes about war and...

...Then he brought up Lynne Cheney’s Lesbian Cowgirl book. Which is pretty cool...

The story's on Wonkette. Go look it up yourself, if you've got time. :hihi:

I still say Tennesse is the nastiest race this year but this ones a close second.

Here's the WP's story on attack ads this season. They say it's mostly coming out of the GOP and their backers (nothing new there), but there's some blame to share. I don't know how to stop this kind of stuff, but we ain't never coming together if this is the way elections are heading. The best line is the last one in the story though. And that's a shame and once again points to the hypothesis that these parties are more in it for themselves than they are for the American people.

I love it when politicians and their campaigns go salacious. It adds an interesting dimension to lives otherwise devoted to graft, corruption, and bribery. I think they should skip Tim Russell and head straight to Howard Stern. These are the best of times for political junkies. We may complain about the tawdriness, but deep inside, it's what we live for.

The onus ought to be on the voter to reject these attack ads, which are completely irrelevant.

Jim Webb isn't a pervert. Democrats don't want to abort black babies and give school-children the morning-after pill. Republicans don't want to arm serial rapists with automatic weapons.

It's so utterly ridiculous, but politicians don't run them for the hell of it. They run them because they work. They depress voter turnout and fire up the base.

The prevalence of mindlessness in politics is the most troubling thing about America today.

>>I'm not vouching for the website TPS. All I did was do a google search for Webb smears Allen. Are you denying the linkages between Webb and the Allen N-word smear.

I have no idea and haven't been following the race. I read the story, seems like the guy didn't want to even talk about it (reluctantly). I mean I think most everyone, white and black, is guilty of using that word at some point. But I was just laughing about the names of the other stories.

I hear you. I started laughing also when I saw the story named "A Democrat Ate My Baby." That thread wasn't really about Democrats eating babies.

A Democrat ate my baby!! Does that sound like an outlandish, silly claim? Obviously it does.

Do we want our politicians resorting to what seem like over the top, outrageous, or low political tactics to win an election? I think I speak for many moderates and conservatives when I say we don't. And in an ideal world, perhaps we should be demanding more than what we might have seen, or will be seeing from some. Unfortunately, it isn't an ideal world.

I honestly cannot remember seeing a time when one party and the media have so conspired to tilt an election. Day after day of Mark Foley and still that silliness drags on. Yet, you don't see many stories on North Korean nukes.

Some would also say that actions are a better indication of an individual's soul.

WEBB, JAMES H., JR.
First Lieutenant, U.S. Marine Corps
Company D, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division (Rein.) FMF
Date of Action: July 10, 1969
Citation:
The Navy Cross is presented to James H. Webb, Jr., First Lieutenant, U.S. Marine Corps, for extraordinary heroism while serving as a Platoon Commander with Company D, First Battalion, Fifth Marines, First Marine Division (Reinforced), Fleet Marine Force, in connection with combat operations against the enemy in the Republic of Vietnam. On 10 July 1969, while participating in a company-sized search and destroy operation deep in hostile territory, First Lieutenant Webb's platoon discovered a well-camouflaged bunker complex which appeared to be unoccupied. Deploying his men into defensive positions, First Lieutenant Webb was advancing to the first bunker when three enemy soldiers armed with hand grenades jumped out. Reacting instantly, he grabbed the closest man and, brandishing his .45 caliber pistol at the others, apprehended all three of the soldiers. Accompanied by one of his men, he then approached the second bunker and called for the enemy to surrender. When the hostile soldiers failed to answer him and threw a grenade which detonated dangerously close to him, First Lieutenant Webb detonated a claymore mine in the bunker aperture, accounting for two enemy casualties and disclosing the entrance to a tunnel. Despite the smoke and debris from the explosion and the possibility of enemy soldiers hiding in the tunnel, he then conducted a thorough search which yielded several items of equipment and numerous documents containing valuable intelligence data. Continuing the assault, he approached a third bunker and was preparing to fire into it when the enemy threw another grenade. Observing the grenade land dangerously close to his companion, First Lieutenant Webb simultaneously fired his weapon at the enemy, pushed the Marine away from the grenade, and shielded him from the explosion with his own body. Although sustaining painful fragmentation wounds from the explosion, he managed to throw a grenade into the aperture and completely destroy the remaining bunker. By his courage, aggressive leadership, and selfless devotion to duty, First Lieutenant Webb upheld the highest traditions of the Marine Corps and of the United States Naval Service.

Book story is definitely a smear, Webb isn't pro-NAMBLA. Expect some possibly equally irrelevant dirt to break on Allen soon, lot of reporters going after his sealed divorce records.
