Let's Quit Smoking (2 Viewers)

uploadfromtaptalk1401379246079.jpg Still vaping, still enjoying it. I'm somewhere around 15 months cigarette free. Not a single lapse and down to 3mg nicotine.

After years of on again off again dipping and smoking, i decided to give vaping a shot instead of picking up tobacco again, went to a B&M vaping shop and picked up an Ego starters kit.
I think this is finally the answer, gives me a nicotine shot and something to do with my hands, but nothings on fire, doesn't smell bad and feels a lot cleaner than real cigs.

With all the different flavors available, should keep me busy for awhile, and off tobacco.

Tonight makes one month cigarette free.I'm using vapor zone and haven't craved a cigarette since.

I know you have to want to quit. I have asked my husband to stop countless times. But really it's finally come down to his smoking versus my health. It's been a year since my Dad died and I have been doing everything I can possibly do since then to maintain/improve my health. Dad gave up cigars cold turkey after about 40 years or so. I have no idea how he did it, but never was there a man more set in his ways and he managed it.

For those who did it cold turkey, do you have any tips for my husband? I can't see him doing it the e-cig way. Maybe ultimatums don't work but he's not smoking around me anymore.

Marsha, my husband started out going outside to smoke (wasn't for me, but after our first baby was born). After doing that for a while (no smoking in the car either) he did quit cold turkey. I remember he would get those cinnamon toothpicks; for a while you never saw him without one in his mouth. He eventually quit doing that too.

I never asked him to quit and didn't complain. He tried and relapsed several times before it finally took. That was about 20 years ago. All you can reasonably ask is that he not smoke around you, I think. It's too hard to quit, it has to come from him.

So this AM I woke up and realized I had 3 smokes left in my pack and I had no more packs. HAd my coffee and said screw it. Left the smokes at home and went to work. Some odd reason I just decided I'm done. Hope it works out for me. Though I do feel sorry for my co-workers cause I have a feeling I will get cranky later.

well I still haven't had one. I did use an e-cig at first and have even been tapering off of that. But damn I still want a smoke every day.

Congrats. My dad did roughly the same thing. Started smoking at 12 back in 53, smoked until sometime in 1970. Woke up 1 morning, looked at them, flushed what was left down the toilet and never had another one. I asked him how he did it. He said he just didn't want to anymore. Til the day he died, never had another one.

Keep going bud.

The craving will eventually go away.

You already know all of the smart reasons to quit.

Just keep being strong.

I haven't smoked or Skoal in 15 months. The urges are almost gone except for those occasional stressful times or eating a large Chinese buffet meal. I feel better and been sick much less this year. My wife is pregnant so that helps me to stay healthy

Sat will be 3 weeks. Small accomplishment but for me still pretty big. Forgive me If I use the thread as a diaryish for quitting smoking. The Sat I quit I used a 24mg nicotine vapor. That Weds I got a 18mg. The following Weds I went with a 12mg. Today got a 6mg and where I get my juices I believe 0mg is next level.

Ive gotten to the point I dont even vape during the day maybe and I mean maybe I'll vape once. I usually do it at night and when I have a drink or twenty.

3 weeks no cig and 2 days not even using e-cig :Bandance:. I honestly didnt even think I would make it past day 1. Now I just have to find the exercise thread (I assume there is one) cause if its edible I devour it.

I had a massive heart attack.

Don't know if that helps, and I wouldn't recommend it as a way to quit.

When I woke up in the hospital, I finally made the conscious decision that the bastiches in big tobacco (the ones who've been manipulating tobacco to make it more addictive) wouldn't get another dime from me.

Turns out I'm a vindictive man who has a stubborn streak.
