We (pre-season Devery "haters") "gave it up" to him weeks ago.

Been a Devery since freshman year at LSU. He has always had the talent, but could he hold onto the ball. He has done well the last 2 weeks without Colston.

He finally was able to have back to back games where he showed up. Good for him. I "give it up" to him right now.

But it doesn't make anyone who doubted him dumb. All I asked is he be consistent with catching the football. Hes done that 2 weeks in a row. Hes def. came to play.

Devery is finally getting an opportunity to start, and he's making the most of it. He is a case in point for why we shouldn't get too down on a guy for what he does at the beginning of training camp (or too up on someone like Hoss who practices well but doesn't have the speed and ability to perform as a starter when the action is for real). I'm proud to say I've always believed in Devery.

Devery hasn't had much playing time until now... with Colston hurt... he's gotten thrown to more... I like him as a deep threat WR, he's proven he can "go get it". I still think he needs to improve his route running and catching the ball more with his hands.

I have always thought that Devery would be a very good WR.... he just needs the chances to play... Haslett stunted Devery's progression by about 2 seasons IMO.

I'd also like to point out that Devery has 20 catches so far this year... 18 of them for 1st downs... 8 of them for more than 20 yards... with nearly a 20 ypc average.
